I am amazed how people expect character and morality to be readily available,it is really not that easy to find someone who would reach out to genuinely help a cause.

What a selfish rich snob Warner is. These unfortunate persons of lesser means certainly do bring all they have to the table, and have far greater needs than the tightwad Warner.

How dare he show intolerance rather than the proper compassionate response to these unfortunates. I'm sure this is a hate crime, or should be.

Evidence that "police supervisors" (who ever the hell they are,) are sociological illiterates and are best limited to writing parking tickets. Sooner or later we have to face the fact that being a cop doesn't mean that you know anything useful about society as a whole.

I visited the Oakland camp a couple of days ago.

This is all true. It's a "Lord of the Flies" atmosphere. There are NO cops at or around the Oakland camp, believe it or not. They are nowhere to be found. This is the opposite of the situation in NY at Zuccotti Park -- they're surrounded by cops 24/7.

Perhaps this is part of a de-escalation strategy by the police, but I think more likely there are no police because some members of the city council are sympathetic to the protesters, and want it that way. The park is right in front of Oakland city hall.

I'll post some more pics, but take a look at this sign posted on the perimeter of Ogawa Plaza (on the perimeter of the camp).
