Or perhaps this guy was doing his best Esa Tikkanen imitation. Esa Tikkanen was an NHL player who starred for the Edmonton Oilers and NY Rangers. His job was to flop to the ice at the slightest contact, feign life-threatening injury, and score on the ensuing power play.
Needless to say, he was the mosted hated player in NHL history.
