I make $24k per year working full-time.
I had to drop out of college due to medical reasons, but I’m saving up so that some day I’ll be able to finish my Accounting degree.
I owe more in medical bills than I do on my mortgage, but I am on-track for paying both of those off early.
I use every legal means at my disposal to keep my income tax burden at $0, and to minimize the other taxes I pay as much as is practical, because I resent being forced to pay for government programs that I have serious moral objections to. I do contribute voluntarily to programs I am in favor of, as well as those I personally use.
I live below my means, and am happy with my life. I alone am responsible for my choices.
I am not one of the 99%.
I might do something similar. There is an occupy protest in our nearest large town. I thought about showing up to counter-protest, but I can do that by continuing to go to work.
Certainly. What you do has great value to others. What most of these protestors do or will do in the future have or will have no value to others.
This is the new reality. If we are lucky.
I think there is a site called something like “We are the 53%’ers”. (The 53% that pay taxes).
I pray that your medical problems are getting better and I respect your self-reliance and desire for self-improvement. You and BenKenobi are the type of young people who should receive all the media attention and praise not these immature so-called “99%ers” who are willing wards of the state.
Excellent
