Same here. I didn’t know he was black until I saw his picture.

Really, it makes no difference to me. If Perry was a rocket scientist I’d consider him too. :)

I noticed some nasty liberal is claiming the Chris Christie isn’t qualified to be President because he is fat. Claims that proves he has no self control, ipso facto, he’s incapable of managing the office of President.

Typical ad hominum argument from the bigoted left.

No mention of Obama’s tobacco habit. I guess that only is a negative for a non-Democrat.

Back when Bill Nelson (FL) first ran for the Senate, his opponent was Bill McCollum. I had a lib tell me that McCollum didn’t belong in the Senate because he looked like Howdy Doody.

Liberals are so morally superior /puke sarc

9-9-9 won’t turn into VAT, it is intended to turn into the FairTax; I am not a fan of FairTax as proposed, because it punishes those of us who are older and have saved post-tax dollars for our whole lives. The FairTax will tax us on that money again when we spend it.

But I don’t expect 9-9-9 to be implemented, so it doesn’t bother me as a proposal. At least Cain has ideas.

The problem with Cain’s willingness to jump to race-baiting so easily is a serious one, although not just because of how offensive it is to call someone a racist who is not a racist.

THe simply fact is that there is a minority of people who WILL vote for republicans but who ARE somewhat racist, or at least consider race enough that they would hesitate to vote for a black person. I think we can still get their votes for a black person, but only if they perceive that black person as not threatening.

When that black candidate starts calling other people racists when they clearly are not, I think it gives these race-conscious voters all the excuse they need to reject the candidate. It’s not fair, it’s not helpful, it’s unsupportable, but it is also reality.

I wouldn’t have any problem voting for a “threatening” black guy. I consider myself “post-racial”. But I can’t deny that there are people who aren’t at that point.

‘I like Cain and it has nothing to do with his skin color. Who, currently in the race, has better experience for the office?’

I am with you THERE!

I want the guy the will go to the White House and veto every appropriations bill that crosses his desk. I want the guy that through executive order stops most of the nonsense spending done by the various departments. I want the guy that will order an executive hiring freeze. I want the guy who will refuse to appoint a Secretary of Commerce, Labor, Education, Energy, HUD, HHS, Drug Czar, Green Czar, Auto Company Czar. I want the guy who will shut it down. I want the guy that will make the federal civil service work force squeal the loudest.

Is that Herman Cain? If it is he has my vote.

Read my post again. I am referring to the idiotic bumperstickers pointing to race, not supporters in general.

So you believe that black people who supported McCain were also racist? Seems to me quite the opposite.

I would if they had a bumpersticker that pointed out race, and thought they were special because they were voting for a white man when they could have voted for a black man.

I’m excited by Cain because he knows math and science and can argue against global warming and other math heavy issues effectively.

“Cain made a mistake. I chalk that mistake up to inexperience with the national media more than I do an attempt to race-bait. I don’t think he’ll make that same mistake, again.”

The one thing people have to understand about the media is that reporters may not be so smart but they WILL know how to use your emotions and trip you up. If you come in thinking that they want an honest intellectual discussion, you’ll fall for their psychological traps.

When Cain supporters say things like, honkies for Herman, or crackers for cain, you know its about race. I was always repulsed by the “old white guys for obama” bumperskickers, that I still see from time to time, and I am just as repulsed by honkies for herman etc, for the same reason......race politics...ugh.
**************************************
I completely agree. I hate seeing the Honkies/Crackers for Cain posted here.

It would not be acceptable to have n*****s for Cain or n*****s for (whatever white guy).

I don’t like black people calling each other n*****s and I don’t like white people calling themselves honkie and cracker.

It is degrading. I complained to CNN, when D.L. Hughley was calling white people crackers on his show. Just as a host saying n*****s is unacceptable.

I have a sense of humor but I don’t see those words as friendly or funny, they are degrading and they are words that keep a defining line between whites and blacks. They don’t point to what we share in common.

I don’t like Cain’s 9-9-9 plan as I am firmly against a national sales tax. I don’t trust congress, they would LOVE that and I don’t think the states would like it, either.

I don’t like crayola politics.Certainly Cain stands on his own and we don’t need to define him by his or our color.

I’ve gone from rejecting Cain as simply another stupid race pick to thinking maybe he is ok

but the fact he was a race pick in the beginning here for many is unquestionable

post and after post about how Cain would really “mess with their heads”...that sort of thing

this nomination process which started out hopeful has turned into a sad milquetoast affair

a real shame given Obama lies mortally wounded by his own hand...a real opportunity of easy defeat even by a social conservative but it looks like once again the northern moneyed GOP establishment will try to force a moderate on us..

The Constitution delineates the qualitfications for someone to serve as President.

Herman Cain meets all the necessary criteria.

I don't see any requirement for the Presidency in the Constitution that states that one has to be a member of the permanent political class, or must have served in Congress or as a state governor first, etc.

In fact, several of our Presidents have not been career politicians, and have had extensive experience in the private sector, such as farmers, ministers, lawyers, soldiers, or whatever.

The voters will ultimately decide if Cain is qualified. I believe that any American with decent intelligence, patriotic passion, and basic knowledge of Unalienable Rights and the Constitution is a potentially good President.

Therefore, I reject the hysterical elitist notion that Herman Cain is not qualified simply because he is not a politician. Cain is an accomplished Chief Executive with a distinguished record, who has risen to the top of several different industries.

The Presidency is, after all, an executive position, and thus talk that Cain is not qualified is ludicrous on its face. He could easily be a better President than any of the last 4 we have had.

Leftists ridicule physical appearance and anything else. They are everything that they profess to denounce: bigotted, intolerant, racist, materialistic—I could go on and on and on—so could you.

I fully agree. And that is who will get my vote if Palin doesn’t toss in her hat.
