Those can count for a lot (e.g. the second amendment). Finding a political candidate that is not paid other than $5 donations is going to be tough. Howard Dean maybe? I am not fond of Perry's friends, e.g. Khan, and some of his positions, particularly his Aug 2001 speech to some mexicans. But I'm not going to toss him in the garbage over that.
I have 3 non-negotiable issues. RTL, RKBA, and borders/sovereignty. If we’ve surrendered so much ground over the past 15 years courting donations that any of these 3 planks is considered expendable, it might be time to ****-can the entire GOP IMO, not just Perry.
It wouldn’t be an issue for me if some of the OBL had given a little to Perry here and there over the years vaguely hoping to influence him. Problem is, they’re his biggest backers and closest political allies, and they remain so because he has done what they have asked him to over the years. He has a long and well documented history of dabbling in quid-pro-quo, and I’ve done enough digging to know exactly where his ‘quid’ is coming from. If the GOP can’t be bothered not to work directly against the economic interests of a majority of their voters, they may as well change their name to Whig.
