Great post, showing that Palin cares about the concept of conservatism while Perry is just trying to get elected,he's self absorbed little else.

So I have a question for all the Palin detractors who manage to dump raw sewerage all over any Palin thread, whether they are Perry or bachmann supporters.
WHICH of your great *Conservative* candidates was NOT a liberal democrat before they realized that no one was buying that crap anymore and the only way they could get elected dogcatcher was to switch parties?
And don’t tell me, well, “Reagan was a democrat,” because back them, there were still patriots in the dem party like Jackson and Nunn and Zell Miller.

One does not have to live on this forum to know what's going on in the world. In fact, it is that patronizing attitude that influense how much time I do spend here.

Have a blessed day.

She’s endorsed Bachmann in prior races as well, so the fact she endorsed Perry for a governor’s race doesn’t tell me she’d endorse him as Prez.

After the public outcry, Perry gave them an opt-out option. The legislature forced him to scuttle it entirely.

I have heard that argument before, its the argument that gave us John McCain.

appealing to the squishy middle instead of a candidate who reveres conservative values ignores many things. Current polling already shows more middle of the roaders are willing to vote for us than the left.

The left has a record of disaster ever since 2007 when they took over Congress.

If we present a good God fearing conservative believing candidate and he/she has to run against Barak Obama when a middle of the roader gets in the booth I am willing to take a chance that they will do the right thing. Sooner or later even squishy middle of the roaders wake up.

Perry has said late August for decision/announcement.

Palin has said late August/early September for decision/announcement.

Not seeing a lot of difference here.

It's a matter of understanding the structure of how Alaska acquires it's revenues as they have no state income or sales tax.

Your definition of a “Windfall Profits Tax” is mainly accurate, but carries with it a negative connotation from the screwed up policy of the Carter years, as you well know. The Palin structure was indeed based on a graduated scale on profits over $52.00 a barrel. Additionally, the Palin plan did increase the dividend checks received by Alaskans by $1200.00 per person.

Did you prefer the Murkowski plan instead? Perhaps Alaska should have gone to a sales tax like Texas?

So if Perry was in office for ten years had a successful economy but was willing to give the store away to the illegals we should vote for him? Not my kind of guy.

You either stand up for your country and its citizens not those who want what our social networks will provide and the sanctity of its borders or you don't.

Perry was and is willing to ignore illegals jumping the border and all the mayhem it brings. There is absolutely no excuse for that.

What is so sad both here and elsewhere is that most Palin detractors have fallen into the DBM trap of “Palin simply can’t win”,and then they create nice neat little polls showing her losing everywhere, which is so much bs and they know it. And its why the DBM are scared to death of her every move.

Governor Perry in one of the better disguised RINO’s around...which is the only reason the RinoCracy would even consider investing in his candidacy.

To add insult to injury, any article about Murk must now read
‘Lisa Murkowski, Independent Senator from AK..’ when she’s the most dependent scum in senate history....

I’m never going to get over that election.

Why don’t they answer the simple questions? I have not ONCE put down either bachmann or Perry on this thread. And I have proven their arguments against Palin false. Then they just go quiet, only to show up on yet another thread spouting the same nonsense. It gets mighty dang old.

Until she gets in the race, she looks like little Ms. slash and burn.

Hmmm, seems to be a fairly consistent talking point meme in there, consistent with others saying she's sniping from the sidelines, or it's easy to sit at your kitchen table and criticize with a post, or other such nonsense.

The common theme of all is an attempt to belittle with words like "little" or "sidelines", etc, to make the case that she's really not doing what a candidate should do.

But what she's doing right publicly is called softening up and shaping the battlefield before the big attack. It's strategic, it's smart, and it's just a forerunner of what's coming. It won't be conventional, and it will attract lots of people who are fed up with business as usual in Washington.

She's running against the DC establishment of both parties, and that WILL resonate with a huge number of people when she starts running as an "official" candidate.

Sorry, but your meme is showing.

I think Palin would consider Perry for her veep and I think he’d take it. He needs to get out of Texas and move to a national position.

Actually Palin has a better record than Perry on jobs too. I’m on my Blackberry but when I’m back to a computer I can provide a pretty telling link on that.too—if no one else has in the meantime.
