Cozaar is a good blood pressure medicine, but a little expensive.
I forget what I was on before my doctor put me on cozaar, but I was coughing a lot, and I had headaches.
I still get tired easily, but my doctor told me that the diabetes medicine was making me weak.
And if I had to do strenuous activity for most of the day, to cut my diabetes medicine in half before I did the work.

I hope you find the solution.
God bless and keep you.

When my boss had a stroke, her short-term memory was affected, too. It’s apparently not uncommon. I’m more worried about your headaches. Do you have someone that can check on the stroke symptoms of slurring and such?

Those are good suggestions. Fish oil — a dozen grams or more a day — is especially important. Krill oil or emulsified fish oil with lemon oil are likely to be easiest to tolerate.

Be sure that the vitamin E that you use is natural source with high gamma and tocopherols and tocotrienols. Much of the vitamin E on the market is artificial or limited to the inferior d-alpha isomer.

If you are on a blood thinner be VERY, VERY CAREFUL if you have any bleeding problems, like tasting blood in your mouth.

A friend of mine had blood clots in her legs so they put her on a thinner. She kept tasting blood in her mouth, having nosebleeds and blood in her stool. Her doctor dismissed it and said it was just a side effect and it was to be expected. She died from bleeding in the brain.

If you are having bleeding problems *anywhere* get to a doctor who will listen to you and take you seriously.

Look into taking Flax seed oil. Walmart has it in the supplements section for about $6 to $7 for an 8-oz bottle that will last you a month. Keep it refrigerated.

Flax seed oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and helps prevent blood clots and is said to improve memory and concentration. Google “flax seed oil” with “blood clots” and “memory” or “brain health” and you’ll find a lot of links.

Caution: If you are on a blood thinner you need to tell your doctor before you take Flax seed oil. The oil may have a thinning effect, and it is DANGEROUS to mix one thinner with another! You need to clear every supplement with your doc first.

I’ve added you to my prayer list. There’s lots of good advice on this thread. Please take care of yourself and don’t hesitate to seek medical attention the moment you feel the slightest of symptoms. God bless!

Hi Nobama
I have had heart attacks and stroke, the docs put me on so many meds with so many side effects that I was sick all the time. I was told about cayenne peppers health bennefits by a friend. I now only take 1 med for angina and my blood pressure is great, my cholesterol is down and I feel and THINK better.
cayenne increases blood flow to all parts of the body and regulates pressure. Please research it for yourself it made a real difference in my situation.
good health, Standing Man

Strokes take 2 weeks to progress sometimes, the mini-stroke sometimes develops into a full blown stroke.

I am not saying you are having one right that second, what I am saying is when you were told you had a mini-stroke before, sometime after they told you that, it became a full stroke.

Please be aware, numbness is only one sign of strokes. The lack of these symptoms doesn’t mean your safe.

You should go to the Emergency room immediately if you have a history of stroke and you have any new symptoms...esp mental impairment.

True.

Which is the usual cause of stroke?

Hemorrhagic strokes or clots?

I honestly don’t know or know how to tell which type it might be at onset. Is there any way a person might be able to tell when the numbing symptoms begin to manifest.

My husband is 65 now, and symptom free, including the head aches.

For years they thought that migraines sometimes caused stroke-like symptoms, but it turned out that migraines were sometimes a symptom of a stroke causing issue with the heart. The hole caused small clots to form. They now close the holes with non-invasive surgery if the hole is small enough.

According to the Stroke Association, 85% are caused by clots. But there’s no way a victim or even a first responder is going to know that. Only a proper ER can determine it.

You definitely need to be proactive about this! You are way too young and need to have aggressive therapy so as to recover as much brain use as possible.

Glad your wife is going with you - will be praying that this was just a wake up call and that you will have a complete recovery!

My wife is the brains of the operation, that’s for sure.

Thanks for the prayers. It means the world to me and my family.

yes it is. Like I say don’t fight it. Please listen to your body. Your body is telling you that it needs to rest. I know many of us don’t want to lay around all day but the brain needs time. I have never experience such fatigue or sleepiness ever in my life. If your on disability like I was away from work, please sleep as much as you can. I understand the Brain is in the process of healing while your asleep. As months go by you will notice your strength coming back and the faigue is less and less. So yes your not alone to feel this. Again don’t fight it, if you feel sleepy take a nap and if your fatigue go rest for a few minutes and when you wake up you will feel a little stronger afterward. I felt a little stronger and less sleepy and fatigue after 3 months. I still struggle with it but it is not as strong now as it was before. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Take Care =)
