Thanks for the assist. I thought I had heard him say on numerous occasions that he was a psychologist or psychiatrist. Now I know.
Yes; Hannity is stuck in the amber of 1994 politically. He still thinks we’re dealing with old-fashioned tax-and-spend liberals when those days have passed.
Rush is like this too and also fails to make the connection between the DNC/Obama on socialism/communism. O’Reilly is just an entertainer.
If you really want to get technical, a Christian is just someone who believes in the divinity of Jesus. FWIW, guys like Torquemada and some of those corrupt Renaissance popes were Christians as well, albeit not very good ones. That said, I’m still a bit doubtful of Mr. Brevik’s beliefs, inasmuch as he lives in a country where 2% of the population attends church services.
I personally am inclined to agree with some of those on FR who proposed that Savage refers to him as a Christian extremist because A. he’s Jewish and thus it costs him nothing to make this claim and B. Mr. Brevik was anti-multiculturalism, a viewpoint that Savage has in common.
Tomás de Torquemada, O.P. (1420 1498) was a fifteenth century Spanish Dominican friar, first Inquisitor General of Spain. He was described as “The hammer of heretics, the light of Spain, the savior of his country, the honor of his order”. He is known for his campaign against the crypto-Jews and crypto-Muslims of Spain. He was one of the chief supporters of the Alhambra Decree, which expelled the Jews from Spain in 1492. During Torquemada’s tenure as Inquisitor General about 2,000 people were burned at the stake due to prosecution by the Spanish Inquisition in the whole of Spain between 1480 and 1530, that is 40 persons per year, i.e., one person approximately every nine days. That is not a Christian, that is Satan in red garments, in the service of the Catholic religion.
Michael Alan Weiners (Savage) PH.D. is in Nutritional Ethnomedicine? In Michaels eyes he is not a Jew nor a muslim therefore he must be a Christian, He cant be serious!
Sheesh. Another Savage post? NEWSFLASH. Someone has many of us confused for people who care about him.
There’s sure an awful lot of replies in here for people who don’t care.
Now, I’ve debated atheists before, and when you argue that Torquemada et al. weren’t really Christians, they accuse you of invoking the No True Scotsman fallacy. So I generally will argue that they were Christians, just really, really misguided ones.
Thank you, the “No True Scotsman fallacy” was entertaining. 1Cr 13:12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
not that many really
Of course they invariably end up using NTS themselves by claiming Stalin and Pol Pot weren’t really atheists.
