They are at war with themselves and anyone else who speaks the truth from the Bible with regard to the abomination that is homosexuality. The anger and venom that is emoted by them is due to their own inner guilt and struggle

- - — -
I would agree with this. I saw my father (gay) struggle with his belief in God (such as it was), the choice of him to get into homosexuality (and he did admit it was a choice), his guilt, and dealing with a daughter who not only was an Evangelical Christian but also in ministry. I believe he hated himself for being gay, hated what it did to me and my mother, and that hatred and guilt for himself led him to be very self-destructive. Sadly, he died without Christ.

I grew up in a high gay area, and I can honestly say I do not know a single gay who is happy, or peaceful. They are all angry, bitter, depressed. Drug use is insanely high and for good reasons.

Your description reminds me of how one Pentacostal minister described many athiests. Instead of not intellectually accepting the existence of God, they are angrily shaking their fists toward Heaven, saying “No, God!”. Rebellion, plain and simple.

- - - - -
My husband says something similar (and probably a quote from someone else).

Atheists are the one who scream “There is no God and I hate Him anyway!”.

I believe most atheists actually recognize there is a God (or fear there is) but they don’t want anything to do with Him, because they would have to change. The more vocal, the more the fear. If they really didn’t believe, then they wouldn’t be so angry at those of us who do.

Rebellion is a good description.

“There is no God and I hate Him anyway!”. (fist shaking toward Heaven)

I believe that is profound and succinct. And it applies to atheists as well as homosexuals. Their fight is indeed with God their Creator and is one that they cannot win and should not fight. It is why they are self-destructive and very unhappy.

Our response should be to speak the truth, with CHARITY, pray for them and the horrible cross they bear and thank God each day with the words ... "There, but for the Grace of God, go I".

reaganaut, thank you for sharing your family story. I am so sorry for all of the hurt you and your family must have endured with your father and with Mormonism. With a challenging journey like that, it is a true testament to the Power and Grace of God Almighty that you are where you are with regard to your personal faith and relationship with Jesus Christ your Savior. Praise God!

When you put it that way...Praise God indeed! And the challenges in my life are what made me who I am and ultimately led me to Christ. I see them as learning experiences and if God can use me to show others Him, then I am humbly grateful.

Just because they do not believe in God doesn’t mean they are not at war with God. Their homosexuality is only one tools they have in the fight against God. Most assuredly they are also evolutionists, and it always strikes me as funny that the homosexual betrays the evolutionists creed and defy natural selection. By the evolutionists standards homos are less evolved since they could not naturaly procreate.

From the Opening Post article:

“those who speak the truth are speaking hate, and those who speak hatred are practicing “tolerance.”’

Ain’t that so!

And please welcome my friend, LauraKBF, a new FReeper.

‘The National Organization for Marriage (NOM) blog highlights one NY state senator who still has a moral compass, Ruben Diaz, and a press release he sent out yesterday:

‘…It is inexcusable that Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice has publicly threatened employees by stating ‘the law affords no discretion to public officials charged with granting marriage licenses. Therefore, any such refusal may be subject to criminal prosecution.’

Her press statement stated: ‘The religious exemptions in the Marriage Equality Act are inapplicable to town and city clerks serving in their license-granting roles, and a public official’s intentional refusal to issue marriage licenses to qualified same-sex couples may constitute Official Misconduct, a Class A misdemeanor defined in section 195.00 of the New York State Penal Law.’”’

“May be subject to CRIMINAL PROSECUTION”! Let’s tell that to our friends who say, let them “marry,” it doesn’t hurt us.

Radical yip-dogs don’t scare me. What scares me is, once we completely obliterate our own moral compass provided by God, people will naturally seek out a substitute, even one provided by Satan (i.e. one that involves terrorism and 72 virgins/raisins)

The model provided in Scripture is Obedience vs Rebellion, Order vs Chaos, Light vs Darkness, Fellowship with the Creator vs Enmity and Alienation.

Its bad theology to say that one trades God for Satan since that pretends that the Created is equal to or bears characteristics of Deity such Omnipotence, Omnipresence and Creative power. Lucifer, a contingent being, is just a fallen angel. Furthermore it pretends that human are nothing more than chess pieces in a cosmic match between Good & Evil.

I thought the Free Will Cabal had a higher estimation of Man's Responsibility, this sentiment reduces everything down to spiritually manipulated impulses not too far away from shrugging and merely saying "The Devil Made Me Do It".

Islam is just one of many religions that act as a substitute for Grace. Islam's purpose, I believe, is to keep the Jews out of Jerusalem. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Soetoro and every psycho serial killer didn't need Islam to be evil.
