You are a blogpimp.

Everyone note the posting history:

You, pimp, are here in a commercial capacity to advertise your blog.

I’d love to see your evidence to the contrary.

How does one tell a profit blog from a non profit blog? I’m a novice at evaluating blogs.

A non profit blog will post the full content.

The other kind will excerpt to drive traffic to the blog,
likely infecting you with six diseases and demonic possession.

My posting history shows I rarely post here, but have been a Freeper for many years. That is my evidence. You on the other hand have a history of accusing Free Republic users of being blog pimps.

“A non profit blog will post the full content.”

Free Republic limits the number of characters in a post. I tried to post the entire article, but it was too log. I was forced to excerpt.

My posting history shows I rarely post here

It shows that you excerpt from your blog exclusively.

You are here for hits, using us as a hit farm.

This is scummy behavior. Deny that you post only from your blog.

Deny that you excerpt in order to get hits.

Free Republic limits the number of characters in a post.

Not if you leave the excerpt button alone.

I was forced to excerpt.

See above.

Posting in from a blog in “Bloggers & Personal” is scummy behavior? Isn’t that what that category is for? Your behavior borders on harassment and abuse.

If he isn’t a blog pimp then he would have no problem with someone copying his article and posting it here.

Well, I tried a simple minded cut and paste out of your blog article into the form I got when requesting to post on Bloggers and Personal. It all went in, and the space automatically gained a side scroll bar so I could look up and down. This is in Firefox 3.6.

I’ve seen huge posts (far larger than your article) where the system complained about not being able to fit it all, so the person posting pasted the remainder into the comment field.

HERE YA GO

WaPo Writer Calls GOP ‘A Grand Old Cult’
The Washington Post has lost it.

Someone ought to study the Republican Party. I am not referring to yet another political scientist but to a mental health professional, preferably a specialist in the power of fixations, obsessions and the like. The GOP needs an intervention. It has become a cult.

To become a Republican, one has to take a pledge. It is not enough to support the party or mouth banalities about Ronald Reagan; one has to promise not to give the government another nickel. This is called the “Taxpayer Protection Pledge,” issued by Americans for Tax Reform, an organization headed by the chirpy Grover Norquist. He once labeled the argument that an estate tax would affect only the very rich “the morality of the Holocaust.” Anyone can see how singling out the filthy rich and the immensely powerful and asking them to ante up is pretty much the same as Auschwitz and that sort of thing. Read more here (if you can stand it)

Just to add some balance to WaPo’s opinion piece, here are some facts about what it takes to be a Democrat in today’s world.

You have to believe electing man with a postage stamp sized resume as President, in the middle of a recession and two wars, was a good idea.

You have to think it is OK for Barack Obama to kill terrorists without even attempting to capture them, but it was wrong for George Bush to capture them and lock them up in Guantanamo Bay.

You have to believe we can spend our way out of debt.

You have to believe Congress should pass bills so we can learn what is in them.

You have to believe it is OK to ask for people’s ID when they buy cigarettes, but wrong to ask for an ID when they vote.

You have to believe that since CO2 is rapidly increasing and the temperature has leveled-off, that somehow proves CO2 is causing global warming.

You have to believe that the government regulating the Internet will somehow make it freer.

You have to believe the Post Office is so well run, it would be a good idea for the government to take over our health care.

You have to believe that taxpayer-funded government jobs somehow add more value to the economy than private sector jobs.

You have to believe that in-spite of the fact unemployment went up from 7% to 9%, the stimulus somehow saved the economy.

You have to believe the government can fix everything, in-spite of the fact they have never fixed anything.

You have to believe that people and businesses who work hard, play by the rules and succeed are somehow evil.

You have to believe that in-spite of the fact almost half of Americans don’t pay any income taxes, the half actually paying taxes are not paying their fair share.

Who is in a cult now?

IIRC, some have complained that the main portion of a post won’t accept HTML for hyperlinks. I’ve never tried that and I didn’t do that here.

Read this:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2636843/posts?page=552#552

Believe it or not, once upon a time vanities were frowned upon by our participants. FR’s original format was established to not only fight for liberty and against government abuse/corruption, etc, but to criticize the liberally biased mainstream media. Therefore our original format was to post from valid NEWS sources and government reports, etc, and to tear them down where deserved. Vanity posters were shunned (unless they were very good).

Then a few years ago the blogger craze started. At first, most of them were treated simply as vanities and were pulled or zotted on sight. Eventually some were accepted as valid material on FR. And soon the blogger wars commenced. To allow blogs or not to allow blogs was the question. Can’t go blanket either way. Like it or not, some blogs are better than most others.

So, long story short, we created a special forum for blog posts. This was in lieu of simply deleting all blog posts. The theory was that as long as they were posted in the bloggers forum, those who didn’t wish to read them could simply click on the “news” forum and they wouldn’t see them. But, of course, as some blogs are definitely better than most others and some are much better than your typical mainstream news sources, we soon allowed certain blogs to be posted regularly to the news section.

This all worked more or less to a certain degree without too much friction until the non-commenting, short-excerpting, long-complaining blog pimp was born.

I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

If a blogger can’t or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then I’d just as soon he doesn’t post here. It’s not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers. That’s his job. And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.

Furthermore, I’m not big on “rules.” You won’t see me posting rules for bloggers. The rules for bloggers on FR are the same as the rules for everyone else. If you are a good conservative activist and are willing to work with US on OUR goals and causes and not against US, then you’re welcome to post to FR. But unless we say otherwise your blog material should be posted to our bloggers forum and it would be best if you do not excerpt your own material and if you would actually join in on the discussion here on FR. We’re not really that interested in driving OUR traffic to YOUR blog. But if our readers see that you post useful information then they might start reading your site and that’s fine by me.

This article is by Richard Cohen, who’s hypocrisy would be legendary if it wasn’t so formulaic. As it is, he’s just tediously irrelevent.

Furthermore, I’m not big on “rules.” You won’t see me posting rules for bloggers. - Jim Robinson

So if JimRob takes this attitude, why have you annointed yourself Blog Cop? You're WAY more annoying than the blog pimps. If you think a blogger has exceeded the boundaries set up by JimRob, why don't you just hit the Abuse button and let the Mods take care of the person, instead of subjecting everyone to your endless, obsessive campaign that disrupts the focus and content of countless threads?

You're not helping things here. If you need a hobby, get a dog.
