Btw, when you are in Iraq do you have problems with the little gnomes that steal socks out of dryers or is that not an issue there?
It is a big problem at our house. We have a whole box full of socks that are somehow missing their matches. Those heartless sock-stealing gnomes....

Btw, when you are in Iraq do you have problems with the little gnomes that steal socks out of dryers or is that not an issue there? I've never had a problem there.
But twice, in all the years I've been there, I've had other people's socks turn up in *my* clean laundry.
Both times, I've just returned them to the laundry point in hopes that they find their proper owner.
But I've heard many, many stories from here in the U.S. about those gnomes and the mysterious place beyond the dryer-hose where all the runaway socks meet up.

Then they take them to their hidden sock deposit area where they keep all their stolen socks. No one can understand why they steal the socks, as they don't really use them, they just pile them up in huge collections. I guess they are just kleptomaniacs. They are addicted to stealing socks to make their hoards bigger than those of their other gnome friends. One collection containing 125,089,297 socks was found recently in...
