How nice that the illegals and their offspring will now eat better than we do, on our dime... It wouldn’t be “fair” otherwise (gagging).
This will tell you everything you need to know about LAUSD.
America has developed an irresponsible attitude that “things” are responsible for mortal woes, not personal habits.
During the Middle Ages witches possessed by spirits were blamed for ruined lives. Today we blame inanimate objects.
Whether it is food, alcohol, drugs or guns it is their physical existence, not their misuse or terrible decisions people make which imperils their life.
The kids should go through the food line and walk directly to the garbage can and chuck that mess. After about a week of seeing all that food thrown away, Maybe, Just Maybe someone would think about what the problem is.
If you don’t give me meat or fish at every meal, I get surly.
Junk food isn’t the problem. Junk education is.
LOL we actually have California Rolls at my high school. I only bought it once.
Sushi starts with cooked rice. This may be cut into blocks, or spread out on a sheet of prepared seaweed (doultz for you folks in Canada). "Things" are placed on the rice. It is then rolled up and cut into bite size pieces. Best served with wasabi and ginger ~ and may include soy sauce.
As a variation try Sriracha, the world's finest hot sauce ~ manufactured in the USA from real peppers ~ exported everywhere.
A colleague works at Occidental College. A few years back, I asked her about it — our son was 16, we were looking at colleges. “It is a wonderful place,” she gushed. “They are really big on diversity and feminism, LGTB (or whatever it is) is really strong, etc.” I do not remember her words, but I remember my reaction — RUN for the hills.
Occidental is a perfect place from whence to issue: tofu, squash tortellini (isn’t it white flour, essentially?), and other God-forsaken faux foods. Those poor poor kids. And no chocolate, a true gift from God.
Another great reason to homeschool.
Oh, yeah, rice wine vinegar! That goes in there.
Yeh, cafeterial sushi that’s been sitting in back for several hours, ought to do the kids right in. Plus, will they buy the expensive, high-quality raw fish? I suspect not.
No, sir, you are not alone. I consider all that stuff bait, and that includes shrimp. I prefer that my food have had two or four legs in its previous life. I admit to having once tried ceviche in Panama. None since. I will eat yellow tail snapper if I catch it myself but that’s about it for seafood.
“The menu proposed for fall sounds more appealing and sophisticated,”
‘
Oh, yeah, ‘cause kids are so into sophisticated foods!
I’ve heard that sushi can be tricky. It it’s not good and fresh, it is more prone than most foods to attract bacteria. I have no confirmation on that, just what I’ve heard.
You funny round-eye devil! Ha, ha!
Your first mistake was stopping by at a McDonald’s.
Why couldn’t they have had sushi when I was in school? First it was hot willing teachers, and now Sushi. Lazy Boy’s are surely next. I’ll really be jealous then.
For a quick meal on the go a couple of small burgers hit the spot without killing you on calories or the wallet
One thing about McDonalds you pretty much are going to get the same burger whether you are in any place USA so you don't worry about blowing your money on some crapola place you never been to.
I didn't say it was great food, but convenient and quick
You can freeze the fish and that kills the worms you mention.
Sushi is just a way of serving rice ~ the fancy way ~ use Kokuho Rose or Nishiki. This is a sticky rice so sticky you can make blocks of it that hold up under any sort of handling.
LOL.
No, I'm with you.
Nah, lots of inexpensive sushi is quite safe. The trick is that the sashimi is irradiated, killing all the potential biologicals. It’s no where near the quality you’ll get at a 4 star Japanese place, but I have developed a taste for it. I usually buy the seaside combo at the grocery store and pop it in my mouth on the drive home.
Sushi isn’t raw fish. That’s sashimi which is often served on sushi. California rolls are very much sushi, as would be cream cheese rolls or avocado rolls, but they aren’t sashimi. Since we’re quibbling.
