Maybe because Aldis owns TJ and are very careful with costs and will only open stores that they know will succeed? BTW, I love TJ’s!
In fact, I am right now waiting for the postman to arrive today with the MAGIC coupons that will allow me to do that.
The Christmas chocolate covered oreos with peppermint crumbled on top(i forget the actual name)are,in fact, like crack!
Great TV show. Whole Foods and TJs customers go head to head on Survivor. The losers get to jump off a cliff chasing an ideological dream. The winners get to try to form a commune in the center of the Amazon jungle.
I like both places, but spend all my time avoiding the shopping carts of the morbidly self-absorbed. I worry most about my Achilles tendons.
What is an LFT?
Hey, someone has to be on "that" side of the bell curve. I'm glad it's them.
Lousy Freeper Troll, I’m guessing.
Whenever I shop at Trader Joe's, I always ask for plastic bags.
The old Antique Mall in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina is being redone and will reopen as a Trader Joe’s some time this summer. July was the first date given.
I just now used my $15 eBay gift card. Not to buy a Trader Joe’s gift card which won’t do me any good down here but to buy 60 magic coupons. It was like buying them for less that half price since the gift card only cost me 7 bucks. I only wish they allowed us to buy more than just one.
I was wondering if you were going to be featured on Extreme Couponing PJ!

You’ve heard of the web site “People of Walmart”
Maybe we need another site “Creatures at TJ”?
Coupon ping!
Aldis owns TJ ??
I didn’t KNOW that! I just went into an Aldis, and couldn’t decide if I liked it or not - prices were good, frozen foods/produce okay - good prices on store brand dairy, too...
Trader Joe’s was a Godsend to me and many people in lean years. Because of TJs, anyone could eat gourmet everyday on very little money. Joe Coulumbe is my hero. I met him at a charity event in Pasadena in the 90s. What a wonderful, kind and classy man. Pre Trader Joes history - when I was a little kid in West L.A. in the 1950s, when he was just starting out, he and a partner opened one of two tiny Pronto markets a block from our house. It was truly the prototype for the first mini-marts/convenience stores. There is now a large TJs on that site. The German company who later took it over has done a very good job carrying on the original vision and by all accounts, it is considered a top place to work by employees.
Random question: Do any of you know where I can find that image of Pitt standing with Jefferson, Franklin, et al., looking over the Declaration of Independence?
It was based on this image:
PJ had used this for a DUFU at the blogspot on June 26, 2006: "DUmmies Claim Founding Fathers Would Today Be...DUmmies"
But I cannot find the corresponding DUFU here on FR. My guess is that someone--Roscoe Karns, probably--then took that image and put Pitt into it and posted it on the FR thread.
THANK you, dead! That’s the image I was looking for!
No problem. I can give it to you without the captions too, if you need it.
