There was a time in our history when such matters would have been resolved with a gun dual on the spot. The Burr–Hamilton duel comes to mind. However, thankfully, we have long since grown with laws to end such uncivility. We have learned civility and created laws to contain the human animal. There is a cost to civility requiring men to renounce their base emotional desires.

There is nothing that says someone can’t pick off or beat up those people brutalizing the military families. We see Blacks beat up white racists who yell the n-word at them and Jews have been known to make the lives of anti-semites miserable. Abortion doctors aren’t always feeling real safe anymore.

People should be afraid to yell that they are glad a person died at a funeral like this. We are too obedient and cooperative sometimes. But in the case of the military families, they have been protected by society’s total rejection of the Westboro gang and the protection they have gotten from the Vets and neighbors who show up to shout them down. That is probably why the Westboro mob is still walking and talking.

And just for those who fall back on the old “she’s not smart enough”, please compare against other Presidents and be specific about how this makes a difference. (Many say BHO is the smartest POTUS we’ve ever had, you know..and Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar).

Palin is both smarter and has more balls than Obummer.

What exactly would she do (or not do) that could even come near to what has been done to this nation in the last 2 years?

The only knock I have on her is her feminist views. Other than that she's a go.
