McCain cost Sarah the election.
T-Paw, the RINO, would be Obozo’s perfect opponent.
I find it very difficult to believe this poll. But whatever. I gave what I thought was a wise warning.
So how does that contradict anything I said?
There would still be a Sarah, a darkhorse candidate and popular governor well into her second term.
You are misreading me. I am talking about the evolution issue only, and in a political context. If you ignore and misread the discussion points of those who want Obama out, then YOU are the big Obama fan.
Of course the lefties want to push someone with no chance of winning. Pawlenty has as much a chance of winning as I do and I didn’t write a book that no one cares about, take a salary from the citizens of my state for a year while doing nothing, nor have I had to raise one cent of money for my non campaign.
This list is completely absurd. Even aside from putting Palin at #10, it’s completely absurd.
What I read:
Someone posts a fairly meaningless poll of potential Presidential Candidates. You scan the list, and glean one point: 'The horrors, Here Be Creationists!'
My point is that if we have descended (or 'evolved' if you will) to the point where it is considered a liability to have a Presidential Candidate who actually believes the Bible is the Word of God - then there really isn't much hope for this Country whomever we choose as our next President.
Will the media mock and denegrate such a candidate?
Sure. The only 'Christian' the Media will accept is one who they know doesn't really believe God, but who is just playing the part of a Christian for show.
Should we curl up into a ball from fear of offending the Media and subjecting ourselves to their slings and arrows? Hardly. Given the camp which the Media currently runs in, I am very comfortable with a candidate whom the Media despise and mock.
As Jesus said in the 15th Chapter of the Gospel of John:
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
Did you not say this ?
“I see a few creationists on that list. While the GOP is majority evangelical, the general population is far from it, and so it would be foolish to consider a creationist seriously. This is not a comment on the issue itself, just on the wisdom of running a creationist.”
The link I sent you clearly disproves what you said. The grand majority of Americans believe in God, so I don’t see how “running a creationist” would hurt the GOP’s chances in ‘12.
“I find it very difficult to believe this poll. But whatever. I gave what I thought was a wise warning.”
If you google “What percentage of Americans believe in six day creation?” or a similar question, you will find several polls, including Gallup and others, and they are all in the 60-80% range.
I am trying to help get rid of Obama but I see that anything to do with God or religion gets all your emotions going. What I said was a simple political judgment. I am not going to come back to this thread, since it is like talking in a different language. Politics and religion are not the same thing.
And stop lying about the polls. That is a disservice and an unkindness to anyone reading this forum.
“And stop lying about the polls. That is a disservice and an unkindness to anyone reading this forum.”
“. . .gets your emotions going. . .”
You replied to a lot of people, and perhaps some were emotional with you, but I was not. I thought it was important information to share with you - that the majority of Americans themselves agree with direct creation by a Creator. So obviously, the majority of Americans would not have a problem with a candidate who does.
As for lying about the polls, besides the previously cited Washington Times, here are a few more:
-Gallup, only 16 % don’t think God had anything to do with creation. The remainder believe in six day creation (40%) and God-directed evolution (38%)
http://www.gallup.com/poll/145286/Four-Americans-Believe-Strict-Creationism.aspx
-Pew Research, According to an August 2006 survey by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life and the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press, 63% of Americans believe that humans and other animals have either always existed in their present form or have evolved over time under the guidance of a supreme being. Only 26% say that life evolved solely through processes such as natural selection.

They polling is not hard to find and I don’t know why you are accusing me of lying.
As I stated earlier, I don’t think a candidate’s views on creation/evolution are going to have much to do with his electability either way. I was trying to calm your fears, not upset you.
