I understood that they have a large flat rock on a pedestal in the lobby.
They may not be, but they’re probably not willing to risk the high fine and possible prison term the HIPAA law calls for. When the HIPAA law took effect, it became illegal to release any health information without patient permission. Even the fact of being a patient is protected health information.
If he was born In Kapiolani, there’s a simple reason for the no fanfare. It’s called the HIPAA law.
You’re right, they don’t. And since HIPAA, they’d have to pay a lot for the privilege (not to mention seeing the person who authorized it face prison time.)
“FREE THE LONG FORM!”
A person’s place of birth is NOT protected health information under HIPAA. It is a matter of public record which is rarely if ever hidden.
I’m thinkin the famous event occured in Mombass, Kenya.
Here is a man who met Barack Obama who told him he was born in Kenya !!! Read for yourself

Now we have a controversy over which hospital he was born in.
Can Obama himself be believed as to which country and what hospital he was born in ?
My son lives in Hawaii and I got the Kapiolani Hospital information from him. We may be in error, but the point is one would think a hospital would make mention of its most famous newborn.
My apologies if I am in error. This was my very first post, and I will be more careful the next time. I believe the main point that it would be financially beneficial for any hospital to mention such a famous birth still holds.
I don’t see any mention of Obama on Queen’s Medical website either. I’ll have my son check if its pediatric ward has an Obama-rama.
And thank you for the correction with Obama’s own words.
Excuse me if I find that less than convincing.
One more thing.
Hope you also noticed the somewhat wry, tongue-in-cheek
tone of the post.
I just hadn’t seen the birther controversy taken from the perspective of the hospital wherein he was born. I would just think ( like Lincoln’s plaque on his log cabin in Kentucky ) that a hospital might find a self interest in banking on such a famous birth.
The official line from the muzzie in chief and his archcriminal administration is that he was born at Kapiolani, its like him at first stating Queens Hospital and the press reporting that right after the election never happened.
Now we have a controversy over which hospital he was born in. Can Obama himself be believed as to which country and what hospital he was born in ?
No, Obama cannot be believed. He stated repeatedly that his nuclear family was in tact until he was 2 years of age at which time his father left to Harvard. What a bnch of tripe, they never lived together reportedly.
In any event, both hospitals refuse to acknowledge whether Barack Hussein Obama II was born there. The reasons are quite simple:
1. The birth occured at one of the hospitals but the newborn was recorded under a different name, or
2. The birth did not occur at either of the hospitals
