the best-known perhaps his 2006 takedown of then-Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

I'm having a hard time imagining Rumsfeld getting taken down by Olbermann. Did anyone see this?

He was one of the honest liberals. He showed his real self unlike the others who pretended to be sane.

I’ve learned more about this assclown Oberman in the past two days than I ever wanted to know. It makes me even more glad I never viewed a single second of his show. (shrug) I’d say, “Good riddance,” but really, who cares one way or the other about that sissy?

He expresses what some of us on the Right feel about Fox’s Irish dynamic but dim duo, O’Reilly and Hannity. However, neither of them come close to the rubber room slanderous vomit that the Left has eaten up watching Olbermann.

[MSM] had been cowed -- not just by the Bush administration per se but by a jingoistic atmosphere that lingered too long after 9/11 and took many unwise forms.

Identification of an enemy (Islamists) and basic patriotism is jingoistic and self defense is unwise? I couldn't let that go. SOB

I suppose I don’t understand the TV business at all, but if I were looking at the numbers, how would someone attracting 1 million viewers be worth 7 million annually. Would those numbers really add up?

“The glibness, the pomposity, the narcissism”

Sounds like he is describing Obozo.
Anyway, I am quite proud to say that I have NEVER seen this Obelfart guy anywhere but in photos posted here on FR.
Come to think of it, I have not seen any of MSNBC.

If they still have to pay out those gazillion bucks to him,
they should insist that he be locked in a padded cell for the duration of his contract.
Oh, but it IS PMSNBC ?

I rather doubt that Secretary Rumsfeld actually went on that show, it was probably Mr. Olbermann trying him in absentia for all his “war crimes and atrocities”, one of his specialties.

Hannity strikes me as a nice guy. Olbermann doesn’t. He’s got a screw loose.

I actually enjoy Hannity’s round table and guests, I just wish he would let them talk more sometimes.

I think they should have O as a guest sometimes on Hannity’s show. Now that would be interesting. And lib heads would explode!

Olbermann had the same positions as Senator Obama. Now, we learn that they were both wrong on all counts. The problem is that Obama is trying to forget about his votes, but Olbermann still holds the same views: Gitmo, Iraq surge, Bush tax cuts, Afghanistan. Wouldn’t surprise me if Obama got rid of him through Jeff Imelt. GE owns MSNBC.

"...how would someone attracting 1 million viewers be worth 7 million annually. Would those numbers really add up?"

Think of the economic model for "Broadcast Television":

The "Customers" are the Advertisers.
The Supplier" is the Network.
The "Product" they are selling...Your Eyeballs and potentially...Your Wallet.

When viewed this way, excessive salaries may make sense.

But, more importantly, there was a years-long procession of pundits whose only apparent purpose was to confirm the correctness and brilliance of the host’s every utterance. The spectacle was one in which purportedly respectable journalists seemed to fall over themselves to play courtier to King Smug.

I know this will inflame a few here, but I could imagine replacing the words “Keith Olbermann” with “Michael Savage” and the article would ring just as true.

The author thought Olbermann was aping Cronkite? Olbermann repeatedly compared himself Edward R Murrow, and stole much of his act.
