My favorite quote from Atlas Shrugged, and truer than anyone who does not have to deal with goverment regulatory agnecies would ever believe. I seriously and really believe that the object of governemnt regulation is to make everyone a criminal. The company I work for recently changed owners and had to get new permits and licenses. It was (and is) a bureaucratic nighmare. The rules are so complicated and convoluted the regulators themselves don’t know the correct answers. You can ask two of them the same question and get two different answers. A quick example, my company and another similar company in the same area used the same consultant for environmental regulations. He is ex-EPA. He advised both of the companies that due to the nature of our business a certain report was not necessary. Eventually, the EPA did an inspection of both companies at pretty much the same time and fined us both $250,000 for failure to file this report. It’s absolutely crazy.

It's nice that conservatives are waking up to this. But it's too little, too late. The Republic is long gone.

The PRIMARY purpose of the EPA is to slow the growth of American businesses.

The reply is, “No, you are an LEO whom a criminal hasn’t killed yet.”
When cops show their Gestapo side to me I always obey because I know that my attorney can easily whip their ass in Court.

Men rescue deer on half frozen river. "Environmental Police" watch from shore, issue tickets for not wearing life vests.
Video
Rescuers say they would do it again. How much of this are we going to take?

Abandon hope, all ye who enter here. ...should be a sign at all public schools.
Nice thought but the inmates students wouldn't be able to read it.

My post is from Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. It’s part of the conversation between Dr. Ferris (evil looter) and Hank Reardon (hero).

But not just the EPA. The Department of Labor (OSHA, Wage and Hour, etc.) serve the same slow growth function as the EPA.

So we should sit at home afraid of that little knock on the door? Is this what the US has come to, enslavement of mind and body?

The rest of the world sees what is going on in this countryTrue. I have a German friend who tells me that she is much freer in Germany than she is here. She is going back.
I am seriously considering expatriating.
