The Senate passed it in August. It’s on the way to Obama’s desk and is as good as the law of the land right now.

Also, I’m tired of this “We’re so fat now”!!!!

Good golly miss molly, I was watching Woodrow Wilson: American Experience (drat, 2nd disc came cracked) black and white old time clips—I saw MANY fat women, men and a few plump kids.

Hell, look at Mexico, we’re richer(at least in credit) but DANG! if they don’t have a BUNCH of fat flockers!

Many old black and white films and many old paintings, LOTS of fat folk. Shoot, it wasn’t until after the 50’s they start lookin’ slim. The 70’s are the worst. They try to look concentration camp skinny and tell us that’s beauty. PFFFT!

It’s just time to start saying SO WHAT, pizz off, flockers. Resist, they can get our paychecks but they can’t afford to police all forks.

Just say kizz my grits :p

Absolutely it’s time to say no.

What this does is add one more giant step toward total anarchy and societal breakdown. It will be a law. A terrible and pointless law that almost no one outside of schools and large organizations will attempt to follow.

The rest of the public will just... go on having tiny bake sales. Meaning that every moment you live and breathe you are breaking a law. The result is that no one including your government will have any respect for the law.

We are sitting here having a serious discussion about the federal regulation of bake sales. Even a year ago I would have expected the sarcastic humor to start up immediately. Well, every time I see another one of these recently the corner of my mouth doesn’t even twitch. It’s just one more nail in the coffin of our freedom. I know the nation will sleep better tonight knowing that our children will grow up... in a country... that federally regulates bake sales.

... Amazing. Go USA!?!

In our town the teachers decided they were just tooo professional to be outside monitoring recess. This forced the school to end recess or hire people to stay outside with the children. They decided NO RECESS rather than spend more money.

“Everyone is flabbing his mouth on DADT.”

That’s on purpose. They throw up something that they know will get people riled up (they are only doing it to appease an interest group, it’s not that they really care about it themselves) while they do something behind everyone’s back that they REALLY WANT. The first issue is pushed out to the media, the real one is done in secret.

It’s one of the oldest rules of conflict: Create a diversion.

>>The rest of the public will just... go on having tiny bake sales. Meaning that every moment you live and breathe you are breaking a law.

The first item on my FR profile page:

“Did you really think we want those laws observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them to be broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against... We’re after power and we mean it... There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”

- Ayn Rand, ‘Atlas Shrugged’ 1957

We’ve been living Atlas Shrugged in many, many ways since 20 Jan 2009. This is just one more.

Pretty much sums it up. Absolutely astonishing to think that the federal government will be regulating your local school’s baske sale. We’re so far afield of the constitution that it’s pathetic...

You can say no all you want. It's not like this is enforceable anyway.

What this will do is add another later of bureaucracy and another couple of thousand federal employees...nothing more. It won't stop or solve a thing.

Somehow, I'm just certain that the 50% of students whose parents PAY for lunch are not the main problem.

Of course the ones who pay for their own is the problem to the gov't in all areas. They already have control over the ones who they pay for - this just give them more control over the ones who pay for themselves.
I figured that whole thing out when I was younger. Gov't assistance means they can tell you what to do. Now they want to tell me what to do w/o their "assistance" along with taking more of my $$ to pay for those who sign up for their control. It's disgusting and terrifying all at the same time.
