And another thing. If there is a forum section called “Bloggers and Personal” what does that mean? Hmm? Could it mean that it is put there for bloggers and freepers to post their personal stuff? Hmm? Gee, I wonder if Jim Robinson figured on putting up a section for bloggers and then stopping bloggers from posting in that section.

For Our Lord’s sweet sake, what kind of individual are you- to agree that a captive elephant in a circus who was harassed into attacking trainers should have been electrocuted to promote Edisons brainless investments? One with that opinion is well equated with the inbred types who originally did put a dumb animal on trial in the KY mtns and hung an elephant there for it’s reaction to abuse. Stuck in the 1800’s. You put an animal down, like one would a lame horse- with care for one of man’s servants.

Edison electrocuted the animal for the grandstanding benefit of Mr. Edison, WHO KNEW HE WAS WRONG all along ABOUT DC current!! That IS THE POINT!

The lengths to which individuals would go to win something that was completely unworkable. JUST LIKE THE VOLT CAR FROM gubmint motors. Edison knew there was not enough conductor metal in the WORLD to distribute DC power (which would require transfer stations every block or so and enormous coils).

I’d be careful whom you refer to as “ninnys”. Owing to lifetime of work experience many here are quite informed on technical topics. And, for reference, you should look up the story of poor old Topsy who WAS AN ANIMAL. Tesla thought Edison a complete ASS for his grandstanding, and glad to see him lose his argument, because he was wrong, and Tesla was right.

Inasmuch as Edison was a major shareholder (which was later found out) in his rival Westinghouse Electric- it makes this inhumane treatment of a dumb animal even more disgusting. All of Edison’s “stopped clock is right once a day, lucky” brilliance aside, he fired Tesla, so that rounds that out. Tesla was the brilliant one.

Look, pal, I asked you what your ninnying and others ninnying had to do with Upton and Edison’s accomplishments. You offered, aw gee, poor tesla, poor elephant.

You are the inbred, since you cannot seem to follow simple logic. The whole thrust of the argument against Upton is that he is at odds with Edison.

Tesla has exactly zero to do with this, yet, you want to get your point across.

Fine, go start a blog, and try to focus next time on the situation at hand.

If you find technical dialogue amongst fellow FR posters to be ninnying, then you should educate yourself so you can understand what was being said. My comments dealt with the accomplishments of Tesla vs Edison in a commentary on their actions, intellect and motivations, and Edison’s blatant support of a completely unfeasible system by grandstand electrocution of a poor dumb animal. Your response was to say you’d “fry” an animal. Completely nonsensical, but notably emotive and impressive in it’s depth of thought.

Upton has nothing to do with Edison, except in the posting of his connection to a company. What he DOES have to do with is a complete disconnect as a RINO, supportive of bogus green initiatives and banning of incandescent bulbs, and with considerable personal financial interest in the forced change. You know, like Mike Chertoff’s ownership of the airport TSA full body scanners company.

The Tesla commentary was directed to other knowledgeable posters to the similarities of this govt. interference in our lives with the potential appointment of a “green, carbon credit” RINO, to the situation from our past in which Edison for his personal gain, was completely wrong. Edison as the dumber, desperate investor, grandstanded by electrocuting a poor dumb animal. What a genius, even allowing for not applying today’s morality with yesterday’s.

Much as the substations of high voltage AC transmission lines (while “dangerous”) won out over “safe” DC transmission which was economically unfeasible, it is safe to say that incandescent bulbs, while of higher wattage, are of much cheaper overall cost vs. “green” expensive florescents.

If this was allowed to progress without govt. intervention, the “green” bulbs would remain where they should be- for dilletantes who also might buy a VOLT car. By simply putting a timer on a incandescent, for cheap dollars, you can blow past the entire production and running expense of a “green” bulb. That is a fact, and not from a ninny. $7.00 vs. 25 cents— that is the comparison. Conservatives tire of so many supping at the federal table at our expense.
