Yes, Campbell’s Canada and England’s McDonald’s have gone Halal. As you know both of these are american companies. Both companies are claiming that the US company’s have nothing to do with the European companies. What starts in Europe soon ends up being here. There are two boycotts going on towards these companies. You can find those boycotts on Facebook. By the way, Swanson and Prego and some other brands fall under the Campbell’s parent company. They are being boycotted too!
We'll use what we have, but no more of these products will knowingly be bought or eaten by us.

The Trader Joe's in my neighborhood is the only nearby grocery I know of that sells (glatt) kosher meat.
I haven't seen any local stores selling meat marked as halal.
Some years ago there was a small halal meat market down the street. The fellow (Afghan?) who ran the shop had a missing fingertip and referred to the then-vice president as "Algore."
I believe you but it just seems so unfathomable. The animal’s head pointing toward Mecca as it’s slaughtered? Saying Allah Akbar or whatever over a chicken? All of those other Islamic “rules”? Well as a Catholic I guess I want four Hail Mary’s said, a Priestly blessing and holy water sprinkled over my next cup of chicken noodle soup. Not to make light of the situation, but it’s ridiculous. Just as a business note how is this profitable? If not for profit what motive?
According to ABC NEWS in a June 2009 report, the demographics of the muslim population in America is around 2.5 million. It’s clearly about multi-culti PC bullcrap than it is about doing smart business. Aside from that, we are commanded in scripture not to eat food offered to idols. If Jews and Christians decide to eat halal food that’s between them and God!

I was talking about kosher - do the employees / food handlers have to be ‘kosher’ or jews?
I don’t think so ‘cause a lot of muzzies work in the food biz that sell Kosher Foods - but I’m not sure.

Don’t know enuf about hall-al or kosher to offer an opinion - I was wondering about the ‘employees had to be muzzie’ part.
I just worry that what I am going to eat has quit bleeding/stopped moving.....
