“There is No Generalized Right to Bodily and Physical Health. Plaintiffs assertion of a fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish.”
So let me get this right, the same Libs that say a woman has a right to choose what she does with her body are now saying I don’t have a right to choose and obtain what food I decide to eat and put in my body?
Hope they don’t make ice cream - 0bama will be very sad when he needs his next ice cream fix.
Those were created to be printed on index cards so people could send them to their reps, because no one was reading the health care bill.
I actually am not a blog pimp at all. As a matter of fact, without realizing the proper netiquette, I tried posting this to news and received a prompt to take it to Blogs and Personal from the helpful automated response system here at FR :)
And so I did. And THAT is how you came upon the link to a blog that had the previously stated “MANY links” to various articles and documents, (some of the more significant ones being from our own beloved FedGov), that you did not bother to follow or to take the time to read :)
Hope your day gets better!
You had to take it to blogs because your source was a blog. Had you cited the FDA you could have posted it to news (though how long it would have stayed is debatable). The bonus there is that people would actually be directed to the precise article you wanted them to see instead of making them wade through various links, doh!
Have a good day.
Hi vetvetdoug,
I actually went over this upthread a bit, if you want to see what transpired before you can scroll up to my post at 28. I do understand about permits and the necessary aspect of them, but the FDA’s own court brief was incredible. It is all about rights that the farmer apparently quite foolishly believed he had : /

Ahhhh, but then I would have risked the wrath of the humblegunner ;} And while I stand ready to take on Big Mother Gov, I do hesitate to invite that, laughs.
Good morning Mr. humblegunner sir :)
Thank you for the advice, and the well wishes,
Tatt
It was, and sadly, still is true. We have so much work to do.
“So let me get this right, the same Libs that say a woman has a right to choose what she does with her body are now saying I dont have a right to choose and obtain what food I decide to eat and put in my body?”
Liberalism - thy name is Irony.

>> I’m pretty sure God thinks the same way in these matters. <<
So you speak for God now? This government is not God! Your total disregard for the constitution is striking as is your knowledge of Biblical principle. You probably also think the government should take the place of the Church in the care of poor and orphans.
In his day the "germ theory of disease" wasn't known, although all these guys advocated vaccination for smallpox.
When you throw down an absolute like you did you must be prepared to take a look at the part of the Constitution that gives the power to fix the standard of weights and measures to the federal government.
"Measures" is a really, really, really broad word. Whatever it means that's one of the federal government's jobs.
Now, after having addressed the Bible and seen what is said there I think I have a pretty good inkling of what's in God's Own mind when it comes to questions of food purity ~ even if you don't, but that's only because you haven't read the Bible.
Just a harmless lovable fuzzball, that's me!
And if you posted the links, it would make things easier for all of the freepers. But apparently you don’t want to make it easier for us to be educated.
Which makes me wonder what your purpose is.
>>I think I have a pretty good inkling of what’s in God’s Own mind when it comes to questions of food purity<<
Cute! An attempt at diversion but cute non the less. Now go find in the Bible where God gives that responsibility to the government.
>>George Washington thought the government should assist the development and propagation of advanced farming techniques.<<
Assist? Or have totalitarian control over? Which would you suspect?
>>although all these guys advocated vaccination for smallpox.<<
Again, advocated or totalitarian control over?
>>but that’s only because you haven’t read the Bible.<<
You obviously have not seen any of my pervious posts. I will debate you on any Biblical subject you choose.
Somewhere we, consumers of wholesome foods, must draw the line in the sand or we are going to find ourselves eating nothing but dead, GMO laden, irradiated food.I find that most people who complain about irradiated food being "dead" end up being wacky environmentalists who want to set us back decades not because they like the good old days so much as they realise that without modern farming techniques a lot of people will starve, giving "mother nature" a fighting chance.
Indubitably. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/2605013/posts?page=86#86
Tatt - who is so NOT a blog pimp :)
The article you linked to is about some dairy being shut down, but the FDA citations are from an entirely different case seemingly unrelated to this cheese issue.
Actually the Israelites were instructed to form a government to hear various cases and the Levites were given the responsibility of carrying out God's kosher food laws, from the book of Leviticus, IIRC.
pinging you to #58, I should have included you since their post was directed to you.
Well, my purpose was to get the FDA brief information out to FReepers, but clearly I was unaware of how to do it without linking to and through the blog, or posting a vanity. Hard to say which is looked upon more poorly : /
I am officially offering up apologies for my technological failings, as well as for linking to the dreaded link filled blog, and making life so difficult for my fellow FReepers this morning.
I assure you that no malice was intended, other than the sharing of my ire concerning the ever growing government behemoth.
