I agree that Kirk is a RINO. It has been known all along. But the best way to deal with that is beat his ass in the primary so the conservative can be on the GOP ticket.

When you get to the general it is time to be pragmatic. The RINO or the crooked Dem who will be 0bama’s sock puppet. It is just crazy talk for a third party candidate to try to gain 45 plus points in about 3 weeks.

O’Donnell and McMahon have a tough hill to climb and they are on the GOP ticket and down 9 to 15 points.

It makes me tired when third party candidates up their take of votes to 10% instead of 5% and think they have done some great thing other than assure that the worst possible candidate gets elected.

Nonsense.

As liberal as Kirk is on social issues, he’s a pretty decent fiscal conservative and that trumps the other IMHO.

Deal with these problems in the primaries, not by throwing elections to the Democrats in the fall.

I still believe that fiscal conservatism will lead to social conservatism. Once you cut the funds off for goofy ideas, they die.

And if you can't rid a RINO in the primary you rid them in the general.....that way the SCUMBAG RINOs get a message they CAN'T ignore....

I'll take a ‘Rat for 2 years before I reelect a SCUMBAG RINO.

I agree that at this point the vote should go to Kirk. These sorts of cases should be resolved in the primary. If the TEA Party can’t get their candidate in via the primary they should support the most conservative (or least liberal) candidate between the Republicans and the Dems. I know this is not ideal, but it is reality.

Other than party designation, name 5 differences between Mrk Kirk and his Democrat opponent.

“Wait, before you get all worked-up and accuse me, an Illinois Democrat, of trying to persuade the right to lean left, please continue reading because my point has zilch to do with Giannoulias…I simply want to make sure that the person you vote for accurately and properly represents you.”

Yeah right b***h, I know that you just care about us poor conservatives you lousy hack Holder!

IL had it’s primary way too early in April, This gave the establishment rino Republican Kirk an enormous advantage. It takes time for a poorly funded TP, conservative candidate to gather steam.
IL should move it’s primary down a few months. I doubt that this would happen because of established interests on both sides. If we had a real conservative candidate running as Republican, they would be way up in the polls. All you have to do is look at what’s happening in WI. WI has Ron Johnson, a conservative candidate and political novice who is kicking Feingold’s butt. Now, the Dim hack Tamara Holder is trying to turn off grass roots conservatives from supporting Kirk.
This is a true Hobson’s choice. Do we take the conniving Dims hack’s advice and throw away your vote on a poorly funded but principled candidate?, do we stay home?, or do we vote for the liberal Kirk rather than the radical Leftist Alexi G?
I don’t know what the right answer is, but I can say that the hack Tamara Holden will vote for the corrupt Leftist every time.

Those who would support Mark Kirk just because he’s a Republican would support Barack Obama if he was a Republican.

Because other than the letter by their name there isn’t any difference that matters between Kirk and Obama.

Kirk is one GOP candidate who absolutely must lose. It is a real shame that Illinois Republicans turned out to be clueless morons, but there you go... Decent Americans in Illinois need to stay far away from this race. Kirk must not win. He is a Specter/Chafee/Jeffords waiting to happen.

Better to be knifed in the face by an enemy than stabbed in the back by a “friend”.

As an old football coach delicately put it, “When $#!T meets $#!T, someone still has to win.

Also once you get a RAT incumbent here in Illinois you will never get them out short of death or an orange jump suit. It will be a lot easier to primary out Kirk than to try ot beat an incumbent dem. The reason we have a shot in Illinois this year is because both the Senate seat and Governor were being filled by placeholders. Look at the trouble we have taking out Durbin and you will see just how hard it is to remove a sitting democrat no matter how bad they are.

The Tea party in Illinois needs to get serious and start winning primaries and stop throwing tantrums. And above all else stop splitting votes. They split the vote in the primary and that is why we have Kirk in the first place. Now they want to split the vote in the general and hand the election to the dems on a silver platter.

“It makes me tired when third party candidates up their take of votes to 10% instead of 5% and think they have done some great thing other than assure that the worst possible candidate gets elected.”

Indeed ... “WOOHOO, we helped an Obama Democrat win!” ... what a waste of time and energy, fighting to make it easier for a Democrat to win.

Work on some other race if you dont like Kirk, but actively working on splitting the conservative vote is plain dumb.

Kirk would get my vote over Obama-ite Chicagoland corruptocrat like Alexi G.

That’s not an endorsement of Kirk’s record, but I’ll take someone who voted against the stimulus, Obamacare, and FinReg over another leftist Obama hack. Plus, the symbolic victory of taking Obama’s senate seat means something.

Yes they should. What are they afraid of an inexperienced candidate? What irks me the most is that Mark Kirk did not show up for one debate in Illinois for the primary. Not one.
He rode out the primary like a coward and now he wants people to just vote for him and hope that he keeps his word and votes against Cap and Trade if it comes up in the lame duck?

I’ve always been an advocate of letting everyone into the debates who make the ballot. I believe that the law should require that a certain number of official debates be held and that those who are state licensed media must cover them as a condition of licensing. That would be real campaign reform. Instead they want to limit how much information the voters get such as with McCain Feingold.
