It is interesting that the interim senate appointee isn’t even trying to pretend he is a moderate; he’s voting liberal right down the line, even on homosexualizing the military! This HAS to be sinking into the minds of some WV citizens that Manchin won’t do much differently.

You know, I’m not sure. You raise a good point! Should be easy enough to discover what type of election this will be.

I think it is to fill Byrd's unfilled time.

Which if it is, it makes it even more important since we need someone in there who is going to stop any lameduck activities.

Likewise the same in Del.

Yes, this is a special election to fill Byrd’s seat. The state Republican party is suing the Sec. of St. because John Raese and Manchin are included on the mid-term election ballot. They are afraid that if the race is close or if Raese wins, it will give Manchin a loophole to challenge the election. So they are trying to pre-empt such an outcome before the election. Of course the dems are crying frivolous lawsuit. This is one time when the GOP is forestalling a future problem. Raese is no fool. He’s in it to win it.

To make it clearer, these two are supposed to be elected in a “special” election, separated from the regular election, not included on the same ballot where people may automatically pull the lever for a full party slate. Many folks in WV are so used to pulling that all Democrat vote, they might do it automatically, so that puts the Republican candidate at a disadvantage. It should be a separate ballot so they have to choose between the two candidates. Hope that is clearer.

Glad to hear it! Hopefully the good people of WV will come to the senses and vote GOP this year!

I don’t know anything about this couch burning stuff but I do have a fondness for your Yuengling beer. The Black & Tan is most excellent.

Hang around Oakland on November 28 and you will likely get introduced to couch burning. The Pittsburgh police, however, are wired to stop it before it starts, if at all possible. Unlike their counterparts in Morgantown.

I wish. John Raese says he will vote against it. Of course, WV already has it and it was signed by Gov. Joe Manchin. Manchin is also on video saying he is for the health care bill. Those are the two reasons why a popular governor is in trouble.
