By their friends ye shall know them.
And contrariwise, by their enemies too.
The fact that that overrated idiot Carl Rove went ballistic over her win wsa enough to assure me my support for her was merited.
I was surprised to hear that Michael Medved, Freedomworks and other “GOP” groups were bashing her... WTF? I guess the separation of the wheat and WEEDS is becoming more and more evident.
I’m sure they would be happy if her first name was Rosie...
His "conservative" shtick just happens to pay better.
I read yesterday that FreedomWorks was Dick Armey’s co-opting of the Tea Party movement. (don’t know for sure, but I believe it was Tea Party Express folks making the claim).
Remarkable, isn’t it, the concern our leftist, demagogue media types display for egregious errors made by the republican party and conservatives!!! The interest they display in our well-being is truly touching, don’t ya think!
Maybe they know something you don't.... maybe she really is a fruit loop.
Here in Colorado, we understand the pain of discovering too late that candidates are fruit loops. Our senate and gubernatorial candidates have turned out to be pretty much a Democrat wet dream....
I know nothing of the politics of CO. However, if what you say is true, then the method by which these candidates were picked bears some close scrutiny......just sayin'
However, O'Donnell has a deeply unimpressive resume and she has not given very much concrete information on how she would go about implementing her positions.
So far, she has demonstrated herself to be a lightweight on policy - her website contains nothing in the way of substantive proposals, her speeches very little.
Additionally, her personal history makes her look like a very unserious person. And that is completely putting aside the other issues like the confusing claims of vandalism and stalking, and the last-minute accusations of unethical behavior from a disgruntled former campaign operative.
The ideal candidate is a person who has the right positions (like O'Donnell) and a personal record of serious accomplishment that can be replicated as a legislator (unlike O'Donnell).
He’s strong amnesty isn’t he?
I cannot stand his condescending to conservatives and, I guess, neither can many others 'cause he's off the radio here in the Bay Area.
I hate to say this but they’ve got a point.
Here in Illinois, we had an election where the original GOP establishment candidate got exposed in a scandal and ended up withdrawing. The conservative wing pulled for a particular candidate whose views were well to the right of what the electorate would support. The GOP establishment decided that if they withdrew and let the conservative wing have it’s way the candidate would lose. The conservatives would be discredited and they would not longer have to worry about sharing power with them.
Well, the GOP establishment was right. The conservatives’ candidate did lose, in a landslide. The conservatives did lose credibility and they have no say in the Illinois GOP to this day. The GOP establishment retained such power as they have, a consideration secondary (to them) to retaining the office.
Meanwhile, the Democratic candidate won a Senate seat previously held by a Republican. That candidate was then-State Senator Barak Obama.
So I applaud the winning candidate, but fear the eventual outcome.
If she is that bad then she draw lots and lots of Democrats vote don’t you thing? Democrats vote for those kind of people right? The GOP Elites & Rino’s are losing control of GOP and they do not like it. We are not only taking back our Country we are taking back our party. Go McDonnell!
Oh, indeed it does. Surely there are better candidates than the ones we keep putting forward.
Of course, that warning goes just as well for Delaware, as it does here. Just how carefully was Miss O'Donnell's candidacy vetted?
I'll grant that Ms. O'Donnell has a plentitude of attractive physical features, and can say the right sound-bites.
But the undercurrent of possible fruit-loopery is there... the lawsuit; the odd tale of her Master's degree claims; a few other rumblings about how she's spending her campaign cash....
She's already on the defensive about this stuff, and it promises to get a lot louder, now that she's the candidate.
What happened in Colorado was that the really deadly stuff began to trickle out after the primaries. The gubernatorial candidate turns out to have lied about his resume. The Senate candidate has made a lot of rather unusual comments over the past few years, and the Democrat is making hay with them.
Any bets on the same thing happening in Delaware?
“So far, she has demonstrated herself to be a lightweight on policy - her website contains nothing in the way of substantive proposals, her speeches very little.”
Hell, she should be running for President!
Why would Democrats vote for someone who holds her positions?
The GOP Elites & Rinos are losing control of GOP and they do not like it.
How is O'Donnell not part of the "GOP elite"? The only real job she apparently ever held down was working for the RNC. Her entire career, such as it is - a brief stint working for the RNC, a brief stint working for the ISI until she got fired, a brief stint working for CWA, dozens of appearances on political talk shows, a failed attempt to start a national policy group, running for office several times - is a picture of someone trying as hard as she can to become a Washington insider.
Her whole adult life has been spent chasing Washington credibility.
We are not only taking back our Country we are taking back our party.
Not with 10% of the electorate.
Go McDonnell!
Presumably you mean O'Donnell.
Hmmmm.... and all the morons in Washington with "impressive resumes" are doing a very, very good job? WTF? Are you impressed with BS Ivy League graduates and "great" resumes by the people in Washington now? I'd rather have a a High School drop out with morals, values and a love for America that a "perfect" candidate that cares only about himself!
The media will allow Democrats to get away with having no resume.
Republicans are a different story.
