There is a significant sanctimonious base of liberal trust fund and red diaper babies who live in the Santa Fe-Taos nexus. Another Democrat cell of Aztlan Chicanos exists in the Las Cruces-Mesilla region. Nonetheless, slowly but surely the rational center at Albuquerque is dominating politics in New Mexico. The proof? A Republican mayor was elected in Albuqerque, which I believe was the first time ever.
No, there have been GOP Mayors before, last was in the ‘80s. They also currently have a majority GOP City Council now, too.
I would have loved to listen to that phone call from the prison: Uh, hon, I saw an ad on TV with you in it. Are you into politics or what? WTF WERE YOU THINKING? I WANT THIS TO GO AWAY. STAY HOME AND BAKE SOME COOKIES. SHEESH. HOW COULD YOU . . . . . .

I hope this ad plays all over your state!
I too hope it plays all over. Denish has had some particularly nasty attack ads, taking things like Martinez buying i-Pods for her staff (because of some warrant thing about listening in to drug dealers, can’t remember the details) and made it out like she just used state money to buy them gifts! So she’s taking real life incidents but shading the truth and making it seem like she’s crooked. I hate ads like that.
That’s why this Martinez ad thrilled me! Smacked Denish right in the teeth!
