Okay....I’ll assume you’re not an operative.
Cause they are out and about but hey, just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not following you.
O’Donnell beats Mike Castle.
Just suppose.
Immediately after her victory speech the phones burn up the lines and satellites. Fox News, CNN, Vanity Fair....lessee, Access Hollywood....Dancing With the Stars.
Because pretty young woman beats mighty goliath in the tiny state of Delaware.
And there’s the uniqueness of it....Delaware is one of the few states with MORE Reps than Senators. The senatorial seat being filled is that that once belonged to Joe Biden...current VP of the U.S.
The winner of this contest will be seated in the Senate the day AFTER the election as this is a special election, not your more ordinary senatorial election.
This tale has waaaaaay more human interest than Lisa Murkowski up on godawful Alaska and look at the publicity that race got!
Christine is photogenic, a good speaker, a Christian...yes she is. Once upon a time she had money issues but all is settled but if you read MY story you know that....boohoo, folks have money issues sometimes.
This attacking of Christine for her money issues is blowing up in their faces big time. Cause while we all might be neanderthal boobs out here in la la land where we carry this country on our backs, we understand money problems and likely, we’ve all had them a time or two.
The Castle campaign is hurting over their line of attack cause all they’re doing is making us boobs without brains who would vote for the likes of Christine O’Donnell, who once had an IRS lien and likely murdered her mother....madder than hell. Cause reading between the lines of their Blue Blood outrage we can hear very plainly....ONLY THE RICH CAN BE U.S. SENATORS. FOLKS WHO ONCE HAD “MONEY ISSUES” (insert grimace here) NEED NOT APPLY.
Christine DID pay all her bills and there’s so many caveats on the stories for which they attack her that hey...well lookit, I can see the ladies on the View listening raptly to her story of how she over-mortgaged her house to run against Joe Biden....when she WAS endorsed by the same Republican party that so villified her...that she finally had to sell it. A pretty woman had a dream and she followed it. It cost her a house but still she smiles...amazing.
The mortgages is paid off, the IRS lien is satisfied and her college loan is finally paid. That took her a while to pay, dear Lord....college loans taking forever to pay off...now there’s a first.
I don’t necessarily think it’s a good thing but Pop Culture plays a part in politics and this O’Donnell/Castle story has got pop story all over it. Even the liberal media will love it.
What? How many interviews you think Chris Coons will get?
Chris who?
Now I know, cause you’re so convinced it would be an awful thing for O’Donnell to get elected although anti-O’Donnell people never really give any example of what awful thing she’d do if elected...like vote FOR Cap & Trade or....NO WAIT....
The Democrats have a lot of money but America loves a good story....America especially loves a tale about a small woman with a sweet smile beats a solidly entrenched grouchball too-long-in-power Blue Blood.
Even the libs in Wilmington will vote for her.
Well, Christine could be elected, but if she defeats Castle,
then
NO
MORE
RINO
You can say “I told you so”, but it won’t have too much effect.
The more the Delaware GOP and the NRSC get involved, the more that conservatives understand that serious, perhaps severe, measures are necessary.
If Christine loses in Nov, well, we tried to get the candidate who would vote right in, and we lost. No biggie.
At least Castle will not be there pulling the strings at the Delaware GOP, using the party organization to attack a conservative.
If Castle loses in Nov, the only argument that RINOs use will be proven wrong, once and for all. Don’t get me wrong, even if they are proven wrong, the RINOs will still use the argument, I’m not saying that they won’t.
Castle will be the poster child for “why we should never nominate RINOs”
No one here has said that Castle is better than Christine. No one here has said that what Castle would do would make the country better.
Everyone here admits that Christine is who we want.
The only argument they have is a theory that conservatives won’t win in Delaware.
The reason conservatives don’t win is that RINOs are in charge of the Delaware GOP, have been for years, and they attack conservatives and do anything they can to hurt them. In the rare case that a conservative does get the nomination, the Delaware GOP doesn’t help them much. So they lose. Win or lose in November, we need to clean house at the Delaware GOP, and put in people who will at least stay neutral in primary races, and put as much effort in getting a conservative elected as a RINO.
They’re not even running a challenger to Beau Biden. That’s all you need to know. All at the Delaware GOP, step aside. Let Christines people take over on Sept 15.
You have a very good understanding of this race.
Christine is a star.
Christine makes an extraordinarily compelling story.
Many people don’t care too much about “liberal” or “conservative”. They vote for the person.
I’m not sure that all those media outlets are going to be universally fawning over Christine.
They may attack her Palin-style. Either way, it’s a compelling story and if she wins on the 14th, people will know the story.
You’re right....they could go the Palin route in their jealousy/fear.
So how’s that working out for Palin?
Yup, exactly.
you go, girl....
holy crap on a shingle! you’re saying if they’ve accomplished “something” even if it’s horrid votes you’re good with it???
OMG.
I get that part; I'm merely saying there's no recent polling out there that says O'Donnell has a shot at winning in the general.
To be sure, nominating O'Donnell makes a loud statement that RINOs are no longer tolerated; the problem remains that Coons would very likely win the general, giving the dems a huge break. We're seeing this play out in Nevada, in which a once-winnable seat now looks like it's slipping away as Reid has now reached 50% in support against Angle.
So you are admitting that Castle is a RINO. So how foolish must a Republican be to vote for him?? Bob
There are a few things wrong with chasing polls...
The two Rasmussen did, first one was showing much stronger for Christine - Second one didn’t show as strongly. Sounds simple - BUT there are a few things to consider. First one was with a sampling of 1000 likely voters, second one only had half as many - 500. Then when you look at the additional questions, seems there was a big increase on the outlook for prosperity on the second poll... Economy improving dramatically? Nope... So what is the difference in the attitudes of those polled?
Permit me to theorize a bit - could they have started their poll by zip code and someone decided to cut it short (hence the 500 instead of the 1,000). That would explain the job security and income security issues as it would have included the Hunt country/Country Club crowd and the Wilmington area - a staunchly Democrat area and Castle and Coons Country. I don’t have any proof of that, but the peripheral question answers sure call it into question.
The one thing that those polls can’t or don’t measure is the ABC factor I mentioned. I will vote for the third party candidate (and I don’t even know if he is of the Libertarian or the Constitution party) who I understand is very Conservative (maybe to a fault).
As for Reid - I know - I sort of watch that, but I am going to leave that to Nevada to deal with. I think we all need to do whatever we have to so we can elect candidates who reflect OUR values - If we do that, I think things will work out, but trying to vote for one candidate because another state may vote for someone else and we try to play ‘gotcha’ by countering with another candidate is fruitless in my judgment.
This dirtbag Castle, in conjunction with the corrupt, elitist RNC, smears Christine’s ethics, and her numbers drop amongst Del. voters. Then she wins the primary and loses the general election, and the ruling class howls that Constitution loving voters lost b/c of nominating an “extremist”. It’s all set up so nicely! The country class snobs would rather see a continuation of Obamanomics than elect someone who would stop it dead in its tracks.
We had two worthless “GOP” liberal slimeballs in Pa., Arlen Specter and gubernatorial candidate Barbara Hafer, whom the powers that be told us to support b/c “they are there when it counts”. Both are now Democrats. What’s that again about Mike Castle being the best choice? Bob
I don't deny he's a RINO. But I'd rather see an anti-0bamaCare RINO win a race in liberal Delaware than a socialist, 0bama-worshipping democrat. Of course, I like O'Donnell and she'd be my first choice. But if electing Castle makes the difference that takes the gavel away from the dems, is that not a better situation?
That said, if Christine wins the nomination, I will absolutley send some $ her way.. maybe, with a minor miracle, she could make up the ground against Coons.
absolutley=absolutely
It’s b/c of goofs such as John McCain (who’s only HALF RINO) that we’re about to suffer a major tax increase on Jan. 1, 2010. So many times Republicans have held their tongues for fear of offending, Hagel, Snowe or Specter. The American people need to hear from articulate apologists for freedom to understand why it is necessary to vote for Constitutionalists. We’ve had a vacuum for the past 8 years, and than God good leaders are finally articulating the case. See Paul Ryan, for example.
I wish I was wrong about Castle being a useful idiot for the left, but I’ve seen too many of these country clubbers to have even a shred of hope for him. No, I absolutely would not vote for him, and I think that his election would be counter-productive to the undoing of the Obama agenda.
Now, I voted for McCain in ‘08, and I’d vote for Fiorina were I a California resident, or a Scott Brown. But to me, this guy Castle is beyond the pale, just as Specter was. I didn’t even vote for Specter over the creepy, angry butch Lynn Yeakel. I think that I’ve been proved right on that one. lol Bob
