I would do a search using something like “old fuel in deisel engines”. Part of the problem is the breakdown of the fuel which causes it to become acidified.

Depends on temperature, humidity, use of stabilizers, amount of sulfur, type of tank, amount of air/diesel in the tank, use of tank filters, etc, etc. Some tanks can keep diesel just fine for 10 or 15 years, but less than ideal can bring that down to a couple of years.

We have several large storage tanks at our medical center designed to hold many thousands of gallons of diesel fuel for the generators for something on the order of 10 years. Generators are run once a months for 5 minutes and during a power outage. I would guess the tanks are topped off once a year. Whether or not the fuel goes sour depends on if you have a system designed for long term diesel storage or not. I have no idea what the Israeli Army uses.

Sounds about right. I’ve kept my tank fairly full, but temp is all over the place -20F to +115F. Humidity fairly low.

What kind of tests does a professional storage facility do to determine usability (”freshness” is probably not the right word after all that time)?

All that fuel for that long and you never scrub it?

This was from a blog, not the MSM. Lots of statements and it leaves more questions than it gives answers.

What is “normal.”
Has this been delivered?
How is it transported?
Who is paying for it?

And probably a bunch of others that are not as obvious to me.

Obama? Barack Obama? Are you crazy?

He’s on vacation. Eating shrimp. Golfing. Reading. Eating ice cream. Did I leave anything out?

“Rosh Hoshana is celebrated during 48 hours for that reason isn’t it? Because no one knows axactly when the new moon will be?”

I was just relating this to my wife. But in the context of my reading somewhere about how all of the “big” things in the Bible have occured during the main Jewish festivals. I probably have “miss-remembered” a bunch, but all of the Jewish festivals have an event by Jesus related to them now. Except for one.

I wish I had the exact Bible quote, but Jesus is asked when he will return. And he says watch for the signs. But no one knows, not even him, but only the Father knows when he will return. And then the skies will open up, and a sound like trumpets will accompany Him and everyone will see him.

Rosh Hashanah is also the Feast of Trumpets. And no one ever knows when the “official” start of the Rosh Hashanah begins because it is based on the first sighting of the new moon.

Interesting thoughts IMHO.

There is a really interesting analogy of the “no one knows but the Father” with the Jewish wedding of that time but it’s a little long to post here. I could send it to you by mail here if you would be interested.

Thanks! You can freep mail me if you would like. But, at your prompting I did an internet search and found an interesting site. Talked about the wedding day, etc. And the tradition of the groom picking up the bride for the wedding is at an unknown time.

Lots of other stuff too. Like the story of the women waiting for the bridegroom, but some of the women don’t have enough OIL for their lamps and leave to buy some, but then the groom arrives and they miss out!

Reminds me of a story I read shortly after 9/11 when plans for military operations against Afghanistan began.

The only problem with this article is it lacks context. Is this a bigger order than usual or is this something Israel does every 12-18 months anyway? A bit of research done there could be interesting.

If Kuwaiti rumors are true, then this could be because of a potential war with Hezbollah & Syria, not strictly Iran - http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/report-israel-planning-to-attack-hezbollah-arms-depots-in-syria-1.310655

lots of stuff to digest in that Haaretz article. Sounds like things are tense along the Israel-Syrian border
