Thanks for taking my post in spirit intended.

Just as a simple note -

I believe that - as a class - the higher ups , and their climbing supporters - are similar to big business types. They view their advancement as a type of “game” where they are “playing by the rules”. Ethics - as regular people think of it - do not come into play. Neither does “right and wrong” or “what is the real best solution to this problem” that others think of. They think “how do I use this situation to advance myself in the game”.

So in this case - it looked good, hey they were helping save the planet! and maybe some auto union guys thought it would help them (so more $ for re-election) etc.

Anyway - they view this as a political game, with its own set of rules. They do not view this as evil - they view themselves as reasonable - that they are just playing by the rules, just as their adversaries are. Some of them are truly evil, and others just don’t understand anything else.

In other words - I’m assuming this re your world view - your world view is as confusing to them as theirs is to you.

This is entirely intended consequence. Why are they pushing public transportation so hard?

They want to raise the price of automobiles so that the nomeklatura can drive them.

Agreed. We have different sets of rules. Mine is Judeo/Christian. They are in it for themselves.
