Let’s not forget the Barbary Coast War in which the young United States defeated these pirates.

Semper Fidelis!

“The Barbary pirates, using what would now be called a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam as their pretext, regularly kidnapped Christian livestock from Italy, Malta, Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica” ... and Ireland and England and Iceland.

"peace at the mouth of a cannon"

Force is the only thing these Mohammedans understand. Why don't the elites understand this?

…whitewashed…

Cute use of words, nice real nice!

Now for an update for those which have hid behind race mongering or its fear of accusation.

Yes, Thomas Jefferson knew this well. Every group has endured slavery…and survived; the only ones who have not done well are those which use it as political identity or associate with ideologies which do not promote triumph of individual freedoms, self reliance and responsibility, followed by education and value to a productive society. We can look around the globe to see prime examples.

Perhaps there’s a need for a Paul Johnson scale history of Islam.

Don’t overlook that muslims also enslaved black Africans-and in a few cases, still do today. But the insidious Farrakhan insists it’s all the Joooos fault.

Slavery is a tenet of Islam and has been since its inception.

They should teach the full history of slavery. I think that if you look back into history, pretty much every people on this planet has both practiced and been a victim of slavery to some extent. Neither Americans nor Africans are special in that regard. In fact, Americans, being one of the earliest countries in the world to abolish the practice of slavery, probably aught to be given some credit.

the issue of slavery

Thomas Sowell has written considerably about slavery.

If one has a genuine interest, I am sure searching Thomas Sowell and slavery will yield excellent results. I use dogpile but any search engine will yield similar links.

Excellent point; Islam is what it is and there is no variation within its philosophy, doctrine, or behavior.

Islam is Islam; there is NO such thing as Radical Islam versus Traditional Islam versus Passive Islam.

Although, Muslims say they may not agree with the tactics; but they agree with the goals of supremacy. Further, Islam has a built in failsafe, to kill those that are apostate or disagree.

Islam is nothing more than a military and quasi-governmental movement, disguised as a religion to control its population. The closest frame work to Islam is Communism, Nazism or Political Environmentalism; could they be considered religion based on faith and fallacy.
