Why so much? 640k ought to be enough for anybody.

Ha! I just forwarded that to my son.
Now, where did I leave my rum....?
Interesting devices starting to roll out... I’m going to see if I can find something like this for under $100 later today, at the Metro City electronics mall in Shanghai. Could be a great eBook experience for cheap!
LOLOLOLOL!
Excuse me, I’m going to put on some pants. Or maybe I’ll just go to bed now.
I’d pay $150 for something like this. May get one and see if it can be used during our security assessments.
Let us know because the screen doesn’t look that good to me in the photo. it could just be the image though.
I read academic papers, etc. in pdf. If it handles pdf nicely, including those made from scanned materials very well, and also not heavy, I might get one and use it as an e-reader.
Android has multiple PDF readers available. Amazon and Barnes and Noble have software out for Android as well.
And having the ability to use a memory card is huge, for me - I have a half-dozen cards around loaded with music (FLAC or WMA lossless), movies, books, etc. that I carry with me. 64 GB of storage that I can swap between my phone (I use microSD with the SDHC adaptor), laptop, and potentially a tablet makes it very attractive.
It is the image. I’ll at least get some pictures of the screens later today (I’ll use my Nikon Coolpix 3000 - 12.1 MP to get some pictures).
As far as I know, neither Nook or Kindle (all variations of it) handle pdf made of scanned old materials well. These pdf files basically are a big graph files, and are not easy to be manipulated by e-readers.
I know I can read scanned PDFs on my WinMo phone, and have seen it done on an Android phone, so this is definitely a step-up over the Kindle and Nook.
But kindle and nook I believe appeal to a different audience.
The text is easy to read and you can read it in broad daylight. The screens really are amazing for text only and they are easy on the eyes. For short burst of info though backlight is fine.
I thought I was the king of the world when I got my new MacII/SE with its smoking hot 8 MHz processor, 1024k RAM, and 30 MB HD. How could I EVER fill that massive HD???
The screen really is nice, and it's pretty responsive, too. It's a resistive screen (not capacitive), but I prefer that as it mimics my phone (HTC Touch Pro2) which is also resistive. Meaning I can use a pencil or a gloved finger to move around.
All in all, it's not a bad little device! Decent music player (with 16 GB microSD cards), movie player (hardware acceleration, it does OK on 720p movies), and e-mail appliance.
for $105 I guess you can’t beat that.
BTW: I have to buy my wife a case for her tilt2. I never use a case with my phones but I guess she doesn’t know how to hold a phone without dropping it.
Do you have any recommendations? If not I’ll probably go with a pink rubbercase like this http://www.boxwave.com/products/praetoriancrystalslip/htc-tilt-2-praetorian-crystal-slip-case_3729.htm
