Does anyone like Hannity? He annoys me to death.
Hannity makes snake-oil salesmen like Huckabee look honest.
Every time I hear him he comes across as a panderer and an opportunist at the highest level.
Everything about that whole “Great American” thing of his just rubs me the wrong way for some reason. I can’t really explain why.
He reminds me of Mr. Haney from Green Acres.
I’m afraid I don’t have a clue as to what you are trying to say in either this post or #11. If you were saying that she wasn’t trying to gain the approval of the NAACP, then why was she a guest speaker, pausing for applause etc.
The “Southern Friends” thing is a little too cryptic as well.
I really like the face to face free form debates. Liberals really don't stand a chance when they have to defend their ideas.
However, the point is that there are racist African Americans. Not that we had to be told this.... except maybe the self righteous NAACP.
I grew up in the North, enjoyed American history, was interested in the underground railroads, hated how the blacks were treated in the South; hated the KKK for the terror they inflicted and of course young and not well traveled thought all white Southerners were racist, lazy and hateful to blacks..so I held a prejudice. That was then, this is now.
She corrected it by finding them “one of their own kind who I knew would help them”. Sounds like she just went from being a racist who would actively harm white people because of their color to a racist who thought white people at least deserved one of their own to advocate for them.
If a Republican “tea party member” had uttered these words about a black man, it would be front page news for a month.
It didn’t sound like she was Bill Crosby entering the Lion’s Den to stake out an unpopular position and defend it. She sounded like a racist being applauded by other racists.
I grew up in the South, enjoyed American history, and hated how many Northerners would stereotype Southerners while at the same time ignoring their own history when it came to slavery, mistreatment of minorities, segregation etc. However, I never believed all Northerners of any color were like that. Even today, I don’t believe all Northerners are socialists driving a stake through the heart of the Constitution and the Republic, only some of them.
I can’t stand his voice, his laugh, the way he says “greater specificity” and “great American”, I can’t stand the way he always has a pen in his hand on his t.v . show, I can’t stand how he just reads from “pieces” and “blogs” (which he stumbles over constantly), he says “you know” too much, he has the same damn people (Newt, Dick Morris, Karl Rove, etc.) on all the time, etc. etc. etc. I have a couple of coworkers who like him and prefer to listen to him over Rush and I just can’t understand it!
Give me a break..when the White House fires someone by seizing their Blackberi instantly and the NAACP ..think about it, there is more to the story. Oh yeah and the President lamely gives the excue he has been trying to get her since yesterday to apologize, when she of course had no communication link available. Stange it took the VIEW interview to say nothing had been heard from the President--then immediately he is on the line saying "call me Shirley"..Laughs.
(It didnt sound like she was Bill Crosby entering the Lions Den to stake out an unpopular position and defend it. (that doesn't even make sense so won't respond)..
And you know what..if southerners, back then, hated the image portrayed of some of them and I will add many during those times..they deserved it. I found out later I was near an underground rr which helped blacks go to Canada.
And yes I had prejudice as a kid toward anyone from the South that was white..but times change and we become more educated, we live life; but we also KNOW in our hearts what is right and what is wrong.
And racism and prejudices toward others still exists underneath the surface, nothing unnatural about that; but is kept under control by our sense of respect toward others.
How often over the years have you heard a friend, family member, client, Navy buddy make a joke about a certain group or individual, as “she's so fat she...”, "how many _____does it take to screw in a light bulb", the 7-11 Indian/Clinton like scenario...my builder used a joke today that I would determine antisemitic..we just ignore, I don't laugh and I know the person is a decent human being..you share an uncomfortable moment..life goes on. So hypocrisy to be shocked at a few words said by another which could be misconstrued (we weren't there), considering we have not looked through the eyes of another, nor have we seen terrible injustices on families, friends etc which of course leave scars. No one is perfect. We don't reveal our lives from under a microscope.
There are poor whites and people of color across this country who live in areas never seen or visited by a politician that do not depend on government to care for them or even want it so just simply go without--their pride relinquished. Those people should be able to seek responsible care when a true need arises.
We do need health care reform..but not in the way it has been initiated and forced down our throats in order to divide Americans and build hatred toward others in doing so. I didnt vote for Obama because it was a shallow platform based on one word Change AND I disliked the whole cast of characters. But angers me that because we didnt vote for the man, we are therefore racists. That the tea party people are racists because they do not follow the Liberal, socialist agenda.
Sharrod I have no problem with, neither did the Farmer and his Wife. But Breitbart needs to come forward and clarify his opening act on the subject. I guess he can;t be reached for comment.
Yup. People are calling her Mother Teresa. She is still a racist however you spin it. Like the justification during the Clinton impeachment — he has done so much for women’s rights even though he has attached a bunch of women. Maybe even raped a women.
And you are absolutely right about if a Tea Party member did the same thing.
There is a huge double standard. Just keep pushing this truth.
