"After initially declining, U.S. Government officials have decided to accept an offer from the Dutch government to send four large oil skimmers to the site of the BP Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico... One ton of oil is equal to approximately 7.3 barrels, so 5,000 tons a day is about 36,500 barrels per day.
Collectively, the four skimmers can take up to 146,000 barrels per day." -
article
If the skimmers were used early, even at the current leak estimate of 60,000 barrels/day, no oil would have reached the shore, and it would be totally unnecessary to use dispersants.

We’ve died and goning to Hell. (Only that the school busses that were going to take us there are abandoned on a flooded parking lot)

Good grief! We have Ray Nagin in the White House! Very true and very scary on so many levels. The worst part is that Nagin was re-elected after his display of total incompetence during Katrina.

Good grief! We have Ray Nagin in the White House! As strange as it sounds, that is an insult to Ray Nagin.

Use the buses, Barrack.
Just use the stuff available and clean up the oil and stop the well.

Is it legally possible for the next Republican president to haul Zero into Court over this?
Isn’t this amount of negligence considered criminal?

You’re right about Soros....Beck explained the other day about how Soros stands to gain, via Brazil, when the rigs (and jobs) move there after being shut down here.

Apparently Soros also owns Nalco which makes the Corexit dispersant that is being used. The Dutch skimmers would have made using dispersants unnecessary because they can take up to 146,000 barrels of oil per day.

Excellent tagline.
BO’s approach to everything:
Throw other peoples’ money at it - keep yelling that you feel their pain and blame someone else for your own incompetence.

That’s not entirely fair to Ray Nagin. My impression was that Ray wasn’t bad for a New Orleans mayor, Katrina just put him figuratively if not literally in over his head. Barry’s in over his head even on the day-to-day stuff.
