w this at a SacBee blog just now:

Some of the state’s biggest races were called early last night, with Meg Whitman, securing the GOP gubernatorial nomination about 30 minutes after polls closed and Carly Fiorina following the with GOP Senate nod soon after.

But there were, as always, lots of close calls and several surprises as the returns trickled in from across the state late into the night. And, with absentee ballots turned in on election day still to be counted, some races are still in flux.

One candidate who likely didn’t sleep soundly?

GOP Insurance Commissioner hopeful Mike Villines.

The Clovis Assemblyman was considered a safe bet for the Republican nod for insurance commissioner, but that race is shaping up to be one of the night’s biggest upsets.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, 53-year-old enforcement attorney Brian Fitgzerald leads Villines by about 11,200 votes.

The close margin could mean Republican voters are still rankled by Villines’ vote on the 2009 budget package (you know, the one included new taxes, cost him his leadership post but won him a JFK Profiles in Courage Award), especially considering Fitzgerald, whom State Worker columnist Jon Ortiz profiled last week, spent less than $5,000 on his statewide campaign.

Rudy and Fred do fine in that regard (no, I don't approve of Rudy, but at least he was honest about being a RINO).

The other three were easy to uncover. Even if all your stuff is true, she's still 80% and will help big time to derail Bambi.

Sorry, it comes down to that right now. The time for your kind of purity was in the primary, and that's over.

You were saying ...

Are you going to lead the charge against Fiorina on FR still?

LOL ... the only charge he leads is the "Don Quixote Division" on Free Republic ... :-)

Good, then you don’t have to pester me anymore with your RINO cheerleading.

I remember you saying how much of a RINO Christie was too.

You got that one wrong big time, and you really don't know if you're right this time.

Dang. You made me spend another thirty seconds.

There is too much work to do supporting real conservatives and advancing real conservatism to waste any resource of time, energy or money on liberal Republicans.

It's not RINO cheerleading, it's called tweaking the strange reality of a purist. Once the primary is over, it's a simple choice, roll over for the dems or try to stop them.

It's her or Babs now, why any conservative would think there's choice in that is hard to understand.

You'd have to be loony to think otherwise.

LOL. You do. I think I may have had a single post on Christie, if that, when he was running.

And FWIW, Christie following the Rudy model of getting tough on the Unions is great. Let’s see how he does on the 2A, abortion, the pink agenda, global warming, etc. etc.

He’s been in office a few months now.

Well since you two are the only pure conservatives here, go have some fun. You can play with each other all night. You can even run each others candidates and tell us if they ever get more votes than Pat Buchanan did from the butterfly ballot in the 2000 Florida election.

When those comments were made, I and others here informed the posters of Carly's bout with Breast Cancer.

I never thought that any of them made that comment knowing her Medical History. If they had, they would be showing their ignorance while crossing a line that is not part of what Conservatives do.

As someone who has experienced eight rounds of Chemotherapy during the last five years and having met many Women suffering from Breast Cancer in the process, this is a little too close to home for me.

End of Rant, please proceed to the nearest Thread. Please watch your step on the way out and be sure to collect your personal belongings. Thank you for visiting.

Carly Fiorina has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List.

She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty.

She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries.

Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. She is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners.

She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence.

She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer.

There are plenty of folks that don’t support RINOs here. I’d daresay it might even be close to a majority. At least it was until Precious started pretending Carly was a conservative.

With your definition, there may be as many as a couple of hundred.........

Now tell us again why you worship Duncan Hunter so much that you spend your entire life working towards electing him when he can't outpoll "uncommitted".

Fiorina has friends in LOW places…

Carly Fiorina (aka Cara Carleton Sneed) sat on the Foundation Board of the World Economic Forum, which has observer status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.

But congressional support for global governance will not wane on Carly’s watch. Agenda 21 and “sustainable development” are the new buzz words for “global socialism” through global governance and Carly sits on the Foundation Board at the mother ship.

This is by no means new for Fiorina though. Her affiliation with global activists dates back many years and includes some of our nation’s most nefarious characters.

An inquiring reporter worth his or her salt should be asking Carly to describe her long-term relationship with Dr. Khalid al-Mansour—aka Don Warden, Black Panther puppet master, Saudi Royal front-man and Obama education financier?

Fiorina sits on other Boards with al-Mansour, such as the African Leadership Academy. Al-Mansour, aka Don Warden, was the man behind the men of the Black Panther movement in the 1960s. He has long held hope for a “black nationalist” president, starting as far back as his relationship with Malcolm X. In fact, X died while speaking at one of al-Mansour’s college campus rallies.

Al-Mansour moved in both Black Nationalist and communist circles throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s, including relationships with noted black communist Frank Marshall Davis, and Weather Underground domestic terror leader William Ayers. Fiorina’s name pops up here and there in these circles, dating back to her college years.

Al-Mansour has been accused of using Saudi money and Black Nationalist leaders like New York Borough chief Percy Sutton, to finance the young Obama’s high-dollar education, among other nefarious pursuits.

Of course. My opposition to RINOs must be about Hunter.

It’s hilarious to see the hysterical ringwraiths cry out “Only Sarah can save us” then turn around and accuse me of worshiping Hunter. Yet everytime you turn around, you see me supporting another fine conservative like DeMint or Inhofe or Bolton to run for Prez. Gee, that Hunter altar must be getting pretty dusty these days.

I supported and gave plenty of money to Queeg even though I loathed he and Lindsey Graham.

I am old. The real world is nothing new to me.

I adored Sarah Palin like no one since Magnus.

I still like her and will support her but my blinders are off.

too many I(s)..lol

If we get the chance to vote for Palin and I hope we do then we will be asked to vote for perhaps the most socially conservative GOP candidate in our lifetimes..mine’s half century plus

what if we had gone wobbly and supported the more “practical or electable” candidate instead of her?

if we are hopefully asked to stick with the most conservative and that hopefully being her then why hasn’t she consistently?

i think she is trying to expand her base beyond people like me and you personally...

You better get busy and find the nearest Boxer Headquarters and get to work for Babs, she will appreciate you support for her and Obama’s agenda.
