Hey buddy, I poked you on your own threads a few times with that tagline. :-) But once I'm done being Mormon I'll be converting to Catholicism, and then to Presbyterianism (it's predestined).
And while I've seen some hellacious accidents, I've never seen one quite like what you described. Aside from Houstonians being a tough lot, prayers definitely help.

(I'm converting to Mormonism to piss off Colofornian. But I'll be going commando.)

Many years ago the exact thing happened to me while I was driving next to a big rig. It was on I-20 in Arlington Texas.
I blew out a left front tire on a company Chevey Caviler and turned right into the rear tractor wheels. It happened in milliseconds.
I bumped off the rear tires like a toy car, spun around about four times, stopped spinning directly in front of the jack knifed rig bearing down on me. The rear tires of the tractor slammed into me, popped my front bumper and hood off and pushing me into the medium
God was watching over me.

Maybe so but what impressed me is the driver of the Volvo (silver) on the other side of freeway. He/she displayed some awesome defensive driving. Definitely paying attention to the roadway.
