I think we need to take Iran out for a host of reasons, with their burgeoning nuclear capability being the most urgent and compelling of those. IMHO, we will rue the day if Iran gets the bomb. My beef is not so much Obama will do something, but whatever he does will be an ineffective half measure—designed to bolster his poll numbers, but not to actually eliminate the threat.

Also, recall that Clinton had no trouble “wagging the dog” in Iraq (albeit in a fairly imited way). Given that the American people kept Clinton in office AND elected Obama in the first place, I’m unimpressed with our collective judgement.

I know it's just public stuff found on the net and maybe not accurate, but I keep seeing other ships supposedly moving that way too. The place I find it is showing the Ronald Reagan & the Abraham Lincoln moving that direction, but I don't read anything about them “replacing” anything. There are also a number of amphibious ships pointed in that direction, and even the Enterprise seems to have moved. Maybe it's just junk I'm looking at, but maybe not. Just wanted to toss that out there.

I can’t imagine 0bama ordering an offensive military action against Iran under any circumstances. I just don’t see it happening. Surely the Iranians and other bad actors know this as well.

Our ships are there to sink the Israeli sub before it can launch a nuke cruise missile attack against the Iranian bomb factory. /sarcasm - Maybe.
