The WE TTI M4’s lack any sort of functional gas tube which is integral to an AR15’s operation
The upper receiver of an AR15 fits onto the lower of the WE TTI M4
The stock trigger pack in the WE TTI cannot strike the firing pin of a AR15 bolt
The body of the WE TTI lower is several mils thinner than an AR15 lower, and shims would be needed for any AR trigger pack to work
The trigger pack of an AR15 appears to be able to fit onto the lower receiver of a WE TTI M4, one of the AR15 trigger pack retaining pins is impossible to insert without major modification, and the hammer isn’t operable with the WE TTI lower.
This is most likely a cover for the screwup when they(BATF)confiscated a bunch of imported airsoft airguns. He**, they are even real air guns! They shoot plastic pellets and there is no way they would hold the pressure of a cartridge.
Give me the ammo and I can create a weapon to fire that ammo! The firing mechanism can be built out of many, many different .. household items!

I ead the article. They think you can take an airsoft “receiver” and drill one hole, then mount an AR upper to it (perhaps one of the EZ-3 kits made famous in the Waco case). I don’t know how you’d make the trigger group compatible.
Looks like propaganda to make ALL firearm parts traceable by serial, and if you wanted a new barrel or slide stop for a 1911, you’d need to get it from an FFL with fed paperwork.

there is asbsolutely no way i would fire a live round through an airsoft. it is by no means safe.
Thanks, I think; so much in the article makes no sense, so I looked for what would make it make sense. Sort of like Assault Weapons in Los Angeles back a bunch of years.
It’s very easy to convert one of these airsoft rifles into a real AR-15. All you have to do is replace the upper receiver/barrel/gas system with a real AR-15 upper. Then, take your franken-rifle and replace the lower receiver/FCG with a real AR-15 lower. Voila: you now have a functional AR-15.
