The law does not allow a police officer to simply pull someone over because they suspect they might be an illegal immigrant. Police officers can only ask if someone is a US citizen if that person was apprehended during a crime or running stop signs, running red lights, or driving drunk and such.

In short, Latinos (since these are the immigrants people care about in the state) must now carry identification at all times, in some cases even birth certificates.

Correct, and as I said on another thread, the fact that they haven't even bothered to read the law which resulted in their total ignorance of the issue suggests they need to put an "ER" on the end of their "LOS".
