I will only refer to the ship as LPD-26.

I’m sure some one will come up with some good lyrics for this whole debacle using the tune from “Gilligan’s Island.”

If Benedict Arnold were alive today, we would probably be calling him the Democratic Congressman from the great state of Connecticut.

Just don’t let’um dream up the USS Algier Hiss or the USS Norman Thomas as substitutes for the Murtha idea.

At this point, I’d be looking for a third choice between Britianinstan and France! In fact, believe it or not, France is looking a bit better then England these days.

Well, one could name a ship the USS Leg of Benedict Arnold. After all, there is a monument to the severe wound Arnold suffered to his leg in service to his country at Saratoga.

LOL, at least his leg was still loyal at the time!

If memory serves, General Arnold has two monuments, one at Saratoga, and one at West Point. Both honor his critical service early in the war. Neither mention his name.

How much DoD money went down that rathole formerly known as Murtha’s district only to end up in his pocket, or the pockets of friends, relatives or campaign contributors?

Why not honor some Native American heroes...how about USS Sitting Bull or USS Crazy Horse?

Ha, that would at least be honest. Those particular leaders were at last honestly anti-America! Murtha was anti-America by subterfuge.
