Baldwin has written a thoughtful piece here, but some of it
is a bit too cynical. I think most of the folks who are real patriots are armed, and those who would be useless, or in the opposition, are not..

“That the people (in whatever percentage is necessary to effectuate principles of freedom) in all fifty states will recognize that they are under despotism is simply not true. Just take a look at the last election and see who voted for the Obama-millions! Count these people out of any revolution movement against a system that they not only support, but love. “

“One need not be a political scientist, sociologists or philosopher to understand that the spirit of revolution is not a national matter, but is a state matter; that the spirit of revolution is not prevalent in every state, but only some states; and that it will not likely be successful in every state without the support of that state government.”

Well yes, but fr_freak point out that the liberal majority in California is not very deep....

“no state is monolithic. In my home state of CA, for example, the state is run by left-wing, hippie fanatics, but a close 48-49% of the CA population are just as conservative as anywhere in the rest of the country. Should things get ugly, the state may not officially support any resistance to the federal government, but a healthy percentage of their citizens will, and believe me, there are no patriots more dedicated and furious as those who live within the den of the enemy. “

I’m not so sure what would happen in California, as it is an anomaly. The 48% of conservatives there are also the ones who are armed....many to the gills. It is nothing like an east coast(liberal) state.

“Just as powerful but using humor is Victorial Jackson’s “There’s a Communist living in the White House.””

I love that video! LOL!

I often see the “line in the sand” posts by people but like you said, nothing ever comes of it.

I have often wondered what would happen if it waqs determined in no uncertain way (meaning even the NYTimes admits it), that obama (small o) is not a US citizen. Would THAT finally move people to action?

I don't believe anyone wants this country to sink into violence/chaos.

I do think it would be better if the States led this revolt because smaller groups would be crushed by opposition forces. (and I'm a friggin Texan)

What will be the tipping point? IMO, it's happened already.

Cali basically went down without a shot being fired. Here in Texas we're still hanging on and I believe we would join any *states* sponsored uprising, if not, one of our own.

I’ve grown tired of the rhetoric, really. Shit or get off the pot, as my old man likes to say. I will not be the first to fire a shot, but I will firmly stand behind anyone who does.

I left California in the fall of 06, as I knew it was going down(in every respect).

I am an Arizonan now. Arizona and Texas would be allies for sure!

"...Compare that scenario with people who live in a state where the state government not only supports the revolution but also participates in and leads it..."

Texas and Arizona.

I too am an ex-Californian. I now know what true liberty and personal responsibility is. I did not learn that in my home state.

I also never knew that proper etiquette dictates you let the lady exit the elevator first. Texas has taught me a lot.

The Founding documents are a “Social Contract” between the people and the government – if everyone follows the rules, it's all good.
But what happens when one side Doesn't follow the rules?
How long does the government expect the people to follow the rules when they ceased to do so?
It should be clear to all that the National Socialist Leftists are either going for broke, trying to get as much of a National Government that is as Socialist as possible in the hope that all of it cannot be rolled back, as the chicoms used to say: Two steps forward, one step back.

OR, the Democratic National Socialist Party has plans to save their bacon in November
The Democratic National Socialist Party has purposely done things on an incremental basis so there hasn't been a distinct ‘line in the sand’ – yet.
But that line could be fast approaching in November – IF the DNSC doesn't follow the rules we are, in the words of Dr. Brown in “Back to the Future”,

Going to see some serious ‘Obama’ [sorry for the profanity]

“I also never knew that proper etiquette dictates you let the lady exit the elevator first. Texas has taught me a lot. “

I have been all over the USA, and I can honesty say that the friendliest people I have ever met were from Texas, and Arizona. It took me a while to get used to how pleasant people are here in Arizona.

It reminds me of Andrew Breitbart at the D.C. Tea Party when he was interviewed by a roving Fox News gal...

Breitbart: “ I have never met so many nice people in my life
as I have at this Tea Party. I have been very careful with my language, and have done my best to fit in here. Here’s the problem...I’m from Hollywood...I don’t know HOW to behave around nice people”

LOL!!

I learned that in the South, when a person says "Well, bless his heart" it's the same as saying "screw him!".

They are just a tad bit more refined, IMO.

I love this place and I plan on raising my kids here. I tell the prospective grandparents "Sorry, I want my kids to grow up in a safe and supportive environment where my values are the norm".

They don't even know what I mean by that, such is the extent of their Kool-aid drinkin'.

Hard to believe that your values are the “norm” there, ain’t it? ;-)

Suffice to say I fit in better in TX than I do in the San Francisco area.

The scales have been lifted from my eyes, and I can now discern a fundamental difference between the two areas.

I even own a Bible now!
