I agree with much of the author's analysis, but he overlooks a couple of things:
1) it is not necessary for a majority of the people to be down with the revolution for the revolution to occur successfully. The original American revolution was fought by roughly one third of the populace.
2) no state is monolithic. In my home state of CA, for example, the state is run by left-wing, hippie fanatics, but a close 48-49% of the CA population are just as conservative as anywhere in the rest of the country. Should things get ugly, the state may not officially support any resistance to the federal government, but a healthy percentage of their citizens will, and believe me, there are no patriots more dedicated and furious as those who live within the den of the enemy.

Yes, it’s good too, but for some reason I like this one better.

VERY IMPORTANT ARTICLE!
Can’t disagree with one point in it.
I wonder if someone could keep track of the states that are likely to buck the Feds and be bastions of freedom? Or maybe we could have a rating system set up in a table with the states in the left hand column. The specific laws or actions taken would to protect citizens from the federal gov’t. would run across the top row as a header. An example would be “Health,” “Guns,” “Immigration,” “Fed ID,” “Militia,” “Eligibility,” etc. Each state would either get a check mark, a blank, or perhaps a minus to show a very bad environment for that category. Links could be posted next to each check mark that go to specifics of bills or proposed bills. It would be useful for many reasons. Some people might want to give serious thought to moving and this would be a good reference. I may take a stab at it.
Very interesting that the author flat out says the courts are not the answer and the states are on their own. I believe that is the case.
Very good article - thanks for posting this.

First off, everyone was ballyhooing a coming insurrection if the health care bill passed. It did, and nothing happened. We’re continuously drawing lines in the sand, and Obama is crossing over them with every Liberal standing in line to do the same. When do we say, “That’s it!”?
Second, without a resurrection of Christianity in this country, we’re screwed. I’ve recently admitted to myself and the world that I’m an alcoholic, and I’m starting to understand the real power of faith in a community. The community fostered in AA is built on faith. If that same community could be culled and cared for in America, we’d see a revival of the American family and way.
Finally, Obama wasn’t voted into office by popularity. I’m still firmly in the camp that massive, widespread voter fraud put this asshole into the White House; fraud on a scale so enormous that it blocked out the truth and gained a life of its own. So large was this affront on our Republic that people just wave it off now, and the media is complicit in the cover up.
The problem as I see it is now we have a media free to cover up our POTUS’ wrongdoings, and our Congress is passing bills so enormous that they can’t coherently be understood without a Juris Doctorate. And while the GOP stands there trying to stop the big bills, the Liberals are passing minor bills to effect massive changes across the country.
So I ask you, fellow FReepers: when does it stop? When do we really stand up and say, “No more!” Obama isn’t going to let us rise up. This is a man who would, without batting a lash, order military campaigns against peaceable citizens akin to the Bonus March back in the 30s.
If we don’t do something, folks, we’re going to lose our lives defending something that was surreptitiously destroyed before we even knew what was happening. If we don’t stand up for the basic, fundamental, set-in-stone concepts put forth in the Constitution, we will be setting a headstone over the grave of our Republic with Nov. 2, 2008 for the day of death.

Might I encourage you guys to take a quick 15 minute listen to this reading of Murray N. Rothbard. Pay close attention to the last five minutes or so when he explains a little of how the authorities discounted and villainized their opposition. Anyhow, it is excellent and well worth your time. I think we could learn from it.
