Which is why they want to include the vote of anyone of Puerto Rican extraction here in the US. They believe they can get enough votes that way to tip the balance.

This is not about what Puerto Ricians want, it about the power to take 6 Congress seats away from Red States and seat 2 new Progressive Democrat Senators.

They are in a hurry, aren’t they? Or is it arrogance?

Under the Tennessee rule, the minute they vote for Statehood, they get 2 Senators and 6 Congress seats. Those 6 Congress seats have to come from existing districts due to the law that caps the total number of Representatives If Nov goes as bad for them as it sounds, that could be enough to maintain the Democrat majorities.

It apparently will allow former PR residents to vote in the referendum even if they live in any of the other states.

That’s like saying I can vote in Texas because I lived there for a few months back in te early 80s.

I called my Congressional Rep., a Dem who wouldn’t allow his intern to say what he will do on this bill!! I argued that this Congress keeps foisting laws on reluctant people, and here is yet another example....

“If this crap passes, it begs the obvious question as to what would prevent Guam, the Virgin Islands or even some non-U.S. Territory like Jamaica or Haiti from applying for stealth statehood by this same method? “

Do you mean “What would prevent Non-Representative Congresscritters from secretly forcing statehood upon unsuspecting Territories?”

"It would inevitably give Democrats two additional U.S. Senators and 6 to 8 additional Members of the House"

this is the one and only reason.

The democrat party is a massive criminal enterprise with undertones of fascist federal oligarchical controls. Soon, theyt will abandon any pretense of seeking votes. Once they crash the U.S. economy and institute cap&tax, and amnesty, they will no longer need to deceive voters, just ignore them.

Frankly, I wish we put an end to this discussion of statehood for PR. It shouldn't even be considered as an option by either the people in PR (and some in the US if Congress gets its way) and by Congress.

We acquired PR as a territory as a result of the Spanish-American War in 1898 along with Cuba, Guam, and the Philippines. We should cut them loose like Cuba and the Philippines. We share a different culture and history. And pragmatically, we don't need them strategically unlike Guam, which has become more important to us militarily.

I just got off the phone with my US Congressman's office and they told me the bill was not a bill to make P.R. a state, but a bill to allow P.R. to vote on US Statehood.

So as usual, I'm confused.

Bet he didn't bother telling you that the bill allows former residents of PR to vote on it no matter what state they live in now.
