This is what my mom is going to build (on a slab) here at the lake and I think I'm gonna build one, too.

This teepee is about 25 feet across.

Pretty - but I wouldn’t want to live in it with 9 kids :-).

If you have nine kids, I’m surprised you don’t live in leather straps :)

You could always build two others, one for the buoys, one for the gulls.

Ours are byos and grilz. I’m hoping one of them will become a movie star or invent cold fusion and keep good old mom in the style she deserves ;-).

I reckon about 12 x 20 would do it, not counting the privvy.

I know a fellow who designed his own house — one big room, with some of his stuff in it, and lots of storage space. The clothes storage closet was 8 x 10. Pretty clever, I thought.

Now, that’s great long-term dedication. I wish I had my grandfather’s cabin, but it’s under a lake.

Actually, many of them did sleep on porches and breezeways during milder seasons. It got a little stuffy in the cabins, too. I’ve toured some exhibition log cabins in my state and KY and it’s almost claustrophobic inside those things.

What about severe storms, hail, tornados? Would you have an emergency bunker for that?
