The young are permanently in a state resembling intoxication. Aristotle

How true.

Yeah, because there are no 18 year olds facing down suicide bombers in Iraq, or Afghanistan. We're not at war or anything.

You do not get it, do you?

No, it is you that doesn't get it. The contrast was between the younger generation during WWII and the younger generation of today.

Yes, during WWII 18-24 year olds had a more personal relationship with the war than the same age group with Iraq and Afghanistan today. This is because the WWII affected them through rationing, drafts, etc.

That said, my point is that we are at war, we DO NOT have a draft and yet, the services are still realizing 100% recruiting rates. America's wars have always been fought by her younger generation.

The contrast was also that they younger generation was easily duped for 0bama, but during WWII the younger generation was somehow intelectually superior. Of course they were.... its not like they elected a socialist to FOUR TERMS in office. The same socialist that created all kinds of make work programs from the TVA, CCC, to the WPA; gave us Social Security, attempted to pack the Supreme Court, ignored high level communist infiltration of the government (even after being personally warned by J. Edgar Hoover). Its not like the young generation was passing out pro-communist AND pro-Nazi propaganda until the day after Hitler attacked the Soviets.... (then it was just pro-Soviet).

Yes, the younger generation of EVERY time period in the US is usually easily swayed. They often don't have the same experience levels to determine they're being fed snake oil. That said, you CAN'T expect the younger generation to fight America's wars and then paint with a large brush that they're ALL nieve and stupid. You especially can't claim that that this younger generation isn't doing anything when we've been in Afghanistan for almost 9 years and Iraq for 7; especially when EVERY servicemember on active duty is a VOLUNTEER vice during WWII where there was a DRAFT.

Does that clear it up for you?
