Thank God it was a minor stroke - Charlie is a legend. I saw him in concert two years ago and have tickets to the Freedom concert in Tulsa next August. Get well, Charlie.

Bad news but it sounds like he’s doing well. Maybe he just did too much “tokin’ on a number” when he was young.

A stroke is bad news but if he’s able to communicate, that’s a good sign.
He’ll be on coumaden the rest of his life.

There is really no such thing as a minor stroke. They all disable the person in some way or another. a baby Stroke is a warning sign that something is going wrong. He was lucky.

probably a TIA ... that’s why it’s good for older people to take baby aspirin or better yet eat onions and garlic which are natural blood thinners to help prevent blood clots

a TIA is Gods way of telling a person to get to a hospital.

Don’t you love the ad he is in where he shows the violin player in a fancy restaurant how to play..he plays in such a way that the strings on the bow start to fray and at the end he says “ That’s how to play a fiddle, son”!

Yes it is and it is important to know what kind of stroke he had. My husband had a “small stroke” which was reported as a tiny stroke in the pons and was a lacunar stroke. That type stroke is related directly to hypertension.
Strokes leave residual effects too though there is some level of recovery. One problem can be a little memory problems. My hubby recovered pretty well despite his other medical issues.
