Maybe it’s just me, but I think a person deserves to eat in piece.

Nope. The actions of this man will make slaves of us and our future generations.

He visited an establishment that was open to the public and he heard from his constituents.

If he wants peace he should order delivery.

Fine, yell at people while they are eating. No big deal to me. If you actually read all the posts, instead of frothing at the mouth after just reading my first response, you would know that I understand and concure. That means that I agree that it was his choice to go out and eat with people who he works for. They certainly have a right to say almost anything they want to.

I can understand why they felt it necessary to yell. They probably lacked tar and feathers.

That's exactly the problem. The lefties have been doing this stuff for a hundred years, and more so since the days of Saul Alinsky.

Let's throw it back in their faces, ten times harder. Dirty thieving scum politicians like this should be insulted and pelted with food whenever they show their faces in public, and video should be posted to YouTube.

"What is best in life?"

"To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!"

It's time to play rough.

Maybe a talented FReeper could come up with printable protest fliers with shocking caricatures of top Dems...

Laz,

I sincerely hope that these photos are not from your collection of “Things I would like to hit.”

Yes indeedy, people just need to keep being nicey-nice to all the well-meaning politicians even if we disagree with their position papers and voting record.

Nicey-nice and polite, while they drain our blood and place shackles on us hand and foot.

Yes indeedy.

Of course, Dem operatives throw reporters to the ground, but raising voicse - in public? - to the traitor Nelson? Ooh, not nice, not nice at all.

Tell me that is photoshopped, please.

Or I’ll never sleep again.

These citizens were exercising their free speech rights in a clear and appropriate manner, it seems to me. No one punched the guy or even vaguely threatened physical hostility.

But from some of the entries on this thread, I get the feeling there’s a revival movement afoot for tar and feathering. It’s time to drag the politicians out of their ivory towers, if they get nervous because their own constituents ask them questions in public and express opinions about their voting records. What else would he expect?

well, I think it’s rude to yell at a former politician while eating, that’s not going to accomplish much. But one who is in the middle of destroying the country, run him out on a rail.

first, for proper context, from Maggief’s post,”“The poll showed that 50 percent are Democrats that didn’t support the plan,” he said. “That’s hard to believe, that’s really hard to believe. It might be possible but it just doesn’t seem quite right. I don’t really give a lot of credibility to that particular poll.

“I’d have to say that nine out of ten people that come up to me thank me,” he said.”
I was commenting on the numbers he stated, which if are true are only true because people are restraining themselves. Comments can pass over from negative,to unpleasant to threatening. Its all a matter of perspective.
I was in no way speaking of a person telling him,”You did wrong.”

Way to go, restaurant patrons...next time, tar and feather him while you're at it.

I for one am glad to see the sheeple reacting emotionally to the severe violation of the values that they hold sacred.

However, I think shunning would have been a more civilized and a more effective response. Can you imagine the emotional impact if everyone would silently walk out of any restaurant or other building that Ben Nelson walked in? Talk about your "silent" majority!

Perhaps Nebraskans could start a grassroots "shun Ben Nelson" campaign. In fact, this would be a tremendous national tactic for the national Tea Party to promote. A few people identify the shunning victim, muttering who they are, and then set an example by getting up and leaving and quitely stating, "I refuse to eat in the same room as that person."

This is awesome, and good for the people of Nebraska!

The question is, did Nelson try to use part of his 30 pieces of silver to pay for his meal?

Can anyone remember a time when politicians were OVERTLY loathed like this ?

Perhaps during the Viet Nam War, but even then, I do not recall politicians being driven from public places.

But ... but ... but ... he interrupted a bowl game in order to instruct these home people how necessary the vote was, why it was right — how could they not understand, be so mean as to boo him at dinner? [/sarc]

Point of consideration.

We are speaking here of Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska, not Bill Nelson of Florida, although he's an idiot too.
