"No, I don´t give a damn about so-called "real Conservatives" who carped on Bush for not being the cardboard cutout of a party platform.
These same people helped sink McCain and elect Obama."
I am proud to say that I miss Bush and I don’t give a damn how that might rub anyone with BDS.
On the other hand, I am glad that he’s gone, for two primary reasons. After two terms of 24/7 service to this thankless country, during very difficult times.. he was ready for a well deserved rest.
Additionally, I was well beyond my tolerance level for having to deal with the daily Bush bashing. He was not a man without warts, he was human... but he loved this country and he gave it all that he could.
So, you bet, I miss him, but as bad as things have gotten, I still take a certain amount of enjoyment in seeing the suffering of those that helped put Obama in office.
Anyone besides me remember the enormous relief the day GW took over from the Clinton mob?
And how the Clintonites trashed the offices, ripped off anything not tied down?
GW wouldn’t allow any investigation of it, because it was more important to simply move on. He never once during his presidency threw blame on the Clintons for anything he had to deal with. He always treated his opponents with respect even when they turned around and trashed him right back... Ted Kennedy being a prime example, but there was in fact a long line of people who attacked him in the most dishonest ways, and he bore it with more grace than I could have done.
On another thread, on another day, I can tell you all the stuff I’m mad at him about, but he was a good and decent man, and O is a daily reminder that there are millions of Americans who do not know “good and decent” when it is right there in front of them.
I wrote on President Bush’s Facebook wall and thanked him for his character and integrity and still needed his leadership.
I hope he doesn’t keep silent during his retiring years.
