...and here I thought Cantor was a rising star in the GOP....

Not for me he isn’t.

Do you ever fight the Left on anything?

Or is this the some total of your posting skills. Ranting all the time at those who are 95% on your side while ignoring those 100% against your views?

He is a face of the new republican party that is leading us into slavery to the state.

I hear this guy's name from time to time. What, if anything has he ever done as a Congressman? It seems the only time I hear about him is because of some talk he talked.

I did notice this is a rant and I’ve seen Cantor say stuff that made me cringe. I found him disappointing.

If Mamzell is really a rat I sure don’t know about it - I’ve seen her/his posts for quite a while and didn’t think that.

I am sick of watching Republican leaders roll over and get their tummies scratched by the MSM. Last night, a treacherous Republican crossed over and voted for a government takeover of our medical system. This was a representative that Cantor promoted for the sake of "identity politics"--Cao is an immigrant from Viet Nam.

You said no GOP votes for the Pelosi Bill. YOU DID NOT DELIVER. Apologize!

After all, you apologize for everything else. Why not grovel to me, too? Rush says something, you rush out and scold him.

And somebody at a Tea Party somewhere held up a sign that somebody objected to. And you apologize and scold.

Representative Cantor and all you weak sister Republicans--these Tea Parties are huge gatherings of people who don't know each other. You don't know them. Don't apologize for them, because there is no possible way you can control what they do. They could be plants from the left, for all you know.

Practice, after me--"I don't know who they are, I can't answer for some stranger in a crowd." DON'T DENOUNCE THEM. It's **$$ing me off!

Next time you want to issue a knee-jerk apology. Think twice. Don't give it, it makes you look like a loser. And I'm tired of losers. Do not hold yourself responsible for something somebody else did.

Who asks Pelosi to denounce anybody? So lose the denunciations. And spare me the "new face of the Republican party." Unless treachery is the face of the GOP.

This is one of our usual, don’t focus on fighting the enemy, spend all your time shooting your allies in the back Democrat in everything but name Propaganda agents.

Well, we don’t need our leadership eating our own....that’s one thing the rats rarely do and we do it all the time.

I should have been hearing many hours of righteous indignation at this perfidy, instead he rails against Rush?

Useless and counterproductive for us.....works perfectly for his press clips.

Pretender or not I have heard Cantor apologize for comments and distance himself from comments Rush and with many in the republican establishment doing everything they can do undermine Sarah Palin it is sufficient evidence the party is corrupted and cannot lead us out of this march to totalitarianism.
As a VietNam Vet it makes me sick to say this but what I see is what I see.

Great post.

Cantor is a pretender.

Pence is real.
Ryan is real.
Palin is real.
Pawlenty.....maybe, I hope so.

If a Republican has to sell out his conservtive principles to atain his leadership position, he is not a conservative nor a leader.

It would help in the fight if our leaders acted as if they have confidence in our cause, instead of always trembling in their dainty loafers in fear of embarrassment.

As soon as Republicans start refusing to apologize, the demands will stop. It's easy, just refuse to be put on the defensive.

"Rush is a great American. He says what's on his mind. You should take your complaints to him. I'm not his mommy."

How hard is that?

"I don't know who carried that sign. The crowds are big. Do you really suggest I am responsible for somebody I don't know?"

"I'm not going to play the denunciation game, particularly since Democrats refuse to play, too."

These are pretty good alternatives to reflexive groveling!

Well, I'm hoping the headline might help this make its way to the GOP leadership. Maybe turning me in as a seminar spy would help Cantor get a clue--STOP THE APOLOGIES.

Sorry - I generally am OK with Eric Cantor. I am not aligned perfectly with any of them - such is life. Right now I am focused on the enemy and not the imperfections of our front line.

I’m willing to support Cantor, even if he’s squeamish and ashamed of me, scary T-partier and all. He just needs to hide his squeamishness and shame and stop groveling. And if he’s struck by an irresistible urge to apologize, let him apologize to ME, for crying out loud, for NY23 and Cao—the Saturday Night Special Republican.

This apologizing is lousy strategy. If it worked, the left wouldn't keep coming around to smirk as Cantor does his mea culpas.

It's defensive. Who has to defend himself but someone losing?
