I think the RNC, Ed Gillespie, and most other beltway repubs actively dislike Palin and can be expected to continue to disparage and attempt to marginalize her. Just another reason why the RNC will not get one red cent from me in the 2010 campaigns. I’ll support candidates: Toomey, Rubio, etc., instead of the RINOs like Crist that the RNC backs. I’d also like to see Palin actively campaign for someone like Rubio, poking a finger in the eye of the RNC and its support of Crist.

Several posters are correct, however, about McDonnell’s current position. He currently enjoys a large and apparently increasing lead, and may want to play it safe. Hope that doesn’t backfire for him.

"Independents and particularly women will give her another look."

Does your crystal ball give any insight into this weekend's lottery picks? I'm looking to get a new sailboat and could use all the help I can get.

I care much less about what likely voters will think, and much more about what they do think. Right now, Palin would be a drag on McDonnell - which is exactly why she hasn't been asked to campaign for him. Considering he has a ten-point lead, I'd say his instincts are solid.

An appearance by Palin opens him up to a barrage of hate-filled attacks from the insaniac left, and others...

I like Sarah, but I am shocked by how many freepers refuse to admit she is damaged goods, politicly.

No matter what you think of her, the left successfully painted her as an idiot, and that is now the accepted opinion of the majority.

I’m gonna get blasted for this, but it’s the truth.

“how can she turn off independent voters?”

BEcause those independents have accepted the version of Palin as presented by Tina Fey and every other media outfit except FOX as the truth. (ie. Airhead, stupid, hateful, etc.)

That doesn’t mean it’s true, but it’s the accepted meme now.

Accepted meme? People need to do their homework and stop listening to the talking points from both sides of the aisle.

She isn’t damaged goods - that’s what those who hate her want the public to think to keep her from running. She is the biggest threat to obama and everyone knows it.

I don’t accept everything that comes from the t.v. set. I do my own research in everything.

conservatives should support Deeds to send a message

No, they shouldn't.
You've been smacked down on your vanity thread already. There's no proof of beef between Palin and McDonnell. Stop believing Politico's lies.

“I don’t accept everything that comes from the t.v. set. I do my own research in everything.”

So do I. So I suggest an experiment....

Get away from the computer, get out of the bubble, go down to the local bar, or Bingo hall, and ask an average middle-aged woman what she thinks of Sarah Palin.

The answers will shock you, as they did me.

I LIKE Sarah Palin, but I’m also realistic enough to realize that her political career is over. We are dealing with enemies that “Create” whatever version of the “truth” that fits thier needs at that moment in time.

She's not damaged goods, it's just a matter of Republicans in tight races trying to "play it safe."

Palin is well-liked in VA among conservatives. McDonnell knows that. Politico knows it, too. That’s why they’re trying to stir things up while taking another shot at Palin. A two-fer for those a_holes.

Your response is exactly why obama will be re-elected in 2012 by an even bigger margin than he was elected in 2008.

The stupidity of the Ameican voter knows no limits and the mdia and Democrats know how to play the envy and jealously card.

If Sarah Plain is “damaged good” like you keep claiming, what does that make 0bama, who campaigned hard for Deeds, only for Deeds to keep sinking in the polls then?

He won't.
Because most Americans don't have an agenda like “tcrlaf” does.

Is Ed Gillespie turning Bob McDonnell against Gov. Palin?”

How is this even relevant?
This is a non story. Bob McDonnell is not running for president. He is running for Governor of Virgina. He doesn't have to talk to Sarah Palin about his plans, just like Sarah Palin didn't consult Bob McDonnell when she was running for Governor of Alaska.
Seems to me like a pretty silly attempt to create friction between Sarah Palin and Bob McDonnell here, where non exists.
So far, Bob McDonnell is doing great in the polls. If he doesn't need Sarah Plain to win, why should he bring Sarah Palin in?

If I vote I am going to vote for Palin.

If the Republicans decide that they want another candidate, Fine.

If Sarah decides that she doesn’t want to run. From the way she has been attacked by the Republicans and more than a few on this forum, I will understand.

Then, as far as I and a good number of others are concerned, The Republicans and obama can fight it out amoung themselves.

In 2008 I voted for McCain [actually Palin] over obama and the last three elections 2004, 2006, and 2008 the main reason I voted for at least one Republican candidate in each election was mainly to vote against the Democrat.
After the 2008 election I pomised myself that I would not vote against another person.

If the Republican Party wishes to continue Democrat lite candidates, fine. There is lots to do around the house on election day.

“what does that make 0bama”

President of the United States, elected by sheep thinking it was American Idol, fooled by a world-financed propaganda campaign, led and created by a largely gay-run national media.

President of the United States,”

Wrong answer!
It makes 0bama “damaged good”, the same label you are so eager to stamp on Sarah Palin. Here you have a perfect example of what you were talking about: A president campaigning hard for Deeds, only for Deed's poll numbers to sink deep down, yet since it wasn't Saran Palin that did this, you still refuse to even see it. Figures. You have only one agenda here, and that is to trash Sarah Palin. Fortunately, all you anti-Palin smears have come to naught. I am yet to see you convince even one person on this site, to your side.

“You have only one agenda here, and that is to trash Sarah Palin.”

Rotflmao! Sit down, dude...

If you check back to last summer, I was one of Palin’s BIGGEST supporters. I am also a realist, as I am coming to believe that she is, too.

Once something becomes “Conventional wisdom”, it’s almost immpossible to change. Ask Gerald Ford how that worked, regarding Checy Chse’s impersonations of him.

Follow the memes, in today’s media, from movies to the TV, to the Alphabet network news...

Republicans are always portrayed as greedy, racist crooks, while Dems are pureas the driven snow, no matter how many of them go to jail for corruption.

In Movies, the big, evil bankers are always Republicans, while in real-life, they are almost always Democrats.

Rich people are evil Republicans, but in REAL-LIFE, they are almost all Democrats, and give heavily to Democrats.

These memes have become the accepted norms, and we can’t do a damn thing about it.

What I am continued to be fascinated is that there has only been one poll in the last 6-7 weeks (PPP polling Sept 20)that have said anything about Palin’s F/UF.

Strangly Rasmussen has left this topic alone and not since June 24 has Pew even done any polls on the GOP frontrunners.

I think something is going on. If there were proof Palin was tanking why hasn’t the MSM revealed it especially before the publishing of her book on Nov 17th to dampen sales?

Yeah?
And that is relevant to this thread today, how?

Once something becomes “Conventional wisdom”, it’s almost immpossible to change. “

“Conventional wisdom” to who exactly? You and Keith Oberlmann? That has that never amounted to much has it?

Ask Gerald Ford how that worked, regarding Checy Chse’s impersonations of him.”

You don't know what the heck you are talking about.
Gerald Ford lost because he was tainted by association with Nixon( even while having nothing to do with it). His pardon of Nixon didn’t help matters either. It allowed a complete loser like Carter to win, because the public wanted a “clean” new face, untainted by Watergate.

Follow the memes, in today’s media, from movies to the TV, to the Alphabet network news...”

The media is about as relevant as tattered old shoes worn by someone for 40 years. This media you are so in love with, totally missed the Van Jones story, yet Glenn Beck by himself alone, managed to chase the sucker out of office. The media also completely ignored the ACORN prostitution peddling racket(until Big GOverment and Beck had already won), yet Beck, Giles, O’Keefe, Big Goverment all NOT from the mainstream media, not only managed to get ACORN’s funds cut off by the congress, they managed to get the IRS and the Census Dept to cut off links as well.
So much for your media. They are becoming less relevant by the day. With ZERO appearance on any mainstream media, Sarah Palin’s book is already on track to be the biggest selling book by any politician.

These memes have become the accepted norms, and we can’t do a damn thing about it”

Oh yes we can: We simply refuse to watch these movies and keep our monies in our pockets. For example, I have stopped watching any of the networks(ABC, CNS, NBS) long ago. Less viewers for them, less money in their pockets. There are already rumors CBS is facing bankruptcy. GOOD!
