What is the original source?

Here.

It was "updated" at 2:57 PM. Isn't it odd that no other TV, radio station, or newspaper in Hawaii had this information and saw fit to post it on the internet?

Well, it is not late in Hawaii, but that’s beside the point.

How come no tv station, radio station or newspaper in Hawaii had this story? Did they give one copy of a statement to one reporter?

When the establishment got the vapors about the question of natural born citizen status, it was to kicked into gear by the Cook case.

This birth certificate raging is all to avoid the publics attention and discussion about the Cook case and what the DOD did to get out from under a judge who was ready to expose the Bamster. He said the active duty officer had a right to know. So Obama had him discharged and fired from his job. The media is doing what they are doing to avoid talking about that.

We should resume discussing that case and it’s meaning for National security and other cases coming down the road.

The AP story doesn't have the quote. It's just a short paraphrase. A press release from the Hawaii state department of health that the AP has no access to. That's odd. Gannet's running the full story. The original source in Hawaii is Gannet like USA Today. Maybe some other outlets will have access to her statement. I'd like this to be over with personnally. Either way.

Everything is based on that one story from the one reporter. Can you say disinformation?

Major news outlets are simply quoting anonymous blogs as fact?

Only if they support the beloved Marxist cause!

The report is from Dan Nakaso of the Honolulu advertiser. You can google his name and see that he has done a fair amount of reporting on 0bama in the past, especially during the campaign. He makes no mention of the circumstances of the statement by Dr. Fukino. Perhaps he just called her up and asked her to clarify her previous statement about 0bama's birth certificate? It seems strange that she would use the term "natural born American citizen," doesn't it?

I would like to know when and where she made this statement, and who else might have been present at the time.

By Dan Nakaso, The Honolulu Advertiser

In an attempt to quash persistent rumors that President Obama was not born in Honolulu on Aug. 4, 1961, Hawaii’s health director reiterated this afternoon that she has personally seen Obama’s birth certificate in the Health Department’s archives.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawai’i State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago....”

Hawaii again declares Obama birth certificate real

By JAYMES SONG (AP) – 1 hour ago

HONOLULU — State officials in Hawaii on Monday said they have once again checked and confirmed that President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen, and therefore meets a key constitutional requirement for being president.

Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said she hoped to end lingering rumors about Obama’s birthplace.

“I ... have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” she said in a brief statement. “I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.”

So-called “birthers” — who claim Obama is ineligible to be president because, they argue, he was actually born outside the United States — have grown more vocal recently on blogs and television news shows.

Fukino issued a similar press release Oct. 31, but was prompted to speak out again because of the renewed attention on Obama’s beginnings. Hawaii’s Health Department has been flooded in recent weeks with questions from individuals and several national TV news networks asking for proof that Obama was indeed born in Hawaii.

“They just keep asking over and over and over again,” Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo said.

The Constitution states that a person must be a “natural-born citizen” to be eligible for the presidency. Birthers contend that Obama’s birth certificate is a fake, and many say he was actually born in Kenya, his father’s homeland. They’ve challenged his citizenship in court.

One widely circulated YouTube clip of a town hall meeting showed a Republican congressman getting booed for saying Obama is a citizen. Talk show host Rush Limbaugh and CNN’s Lou Dobbs have also raised the issue, and 10 Republican members of Congress co-sponsored a bill that would require future presidential candidates to provide a copy of their original birth certificate.

However, it appears Congress has moved on and has accepted Obama’s island birthplace. The U.S. House on Monday unanimously approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating the 50th anniversary of Hawaii becoming the 50th state. A clause was included that reads: “Whereas the 44th President of the United States, Barack Obama, was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961.”

State law bars the release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest.

However, Obama’s birth certificate along with birth notices from the two Honolulu newspapers were brought forward even before he took office. But that’s done nothing to shake the belief by many Obama critics that the president was born abroad.

Obama Hawaii Born, Says Health Director
Reported by: Andrew Pereira
Email: apereira@khon2.com
Last Update: 7/27 6:58 pm

Hawaii State Health Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino issued a statement Monday saying President Barack Obama was born in Honolulu and she had seen the vital records first hand.

“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barrack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen,” the statement read.

It was the second time in nearly nine months Dr. Fukino was forced to dispel rumors that Obama, the nation’s 44th president, was actually born in Kenya.

Resurgence of the debate over Mr. Obama’s birthplace came after a resolution honoring the fiftieth anniversary of Hawaii’s statehood was about to be approved on the floor of the U.S. House.

Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Minnesota republican, temporarily blocked the resolution when she objected by saying the House did not have the required quorum.

Moments earlier Bachmann had stood in support of the resolution. However a “whereas” clause provided fodder for those who believe Mr. Obama was actually born in Kenya. The resolution states that President Obama was born in Hawaii.

“If this were a conspiracy,” Hawaii Democratic Party Chair Brian Schatz told Khon2, “this would have had to start in 1961. And so it’s a little outlandish to imagine how this conspiracy would have occurred.”

During the presidential campaign Mr. Obama placed his Hawaii birth certificate on the website fightthesmears.com in response to claims he wasn’t a natural born American citizen.

The birth certificate lists Obama’s place of birth as Kapiolani Hospital in Honolulu on August 4, 1961 at 7:24 p.m.

Schatz believes most Americans don’t place any credibility on claims President Obama was actually born in Kenya, but he says some members of Congress have done little to dispel the myth.

“I think this would’ve stayed outside of the mainstream were it not for elected members of Congress who want to sort of gin up this part of their base,” he said.

Khon2 was unable to reach Rep. Bachmann or one of her aides. The Hawaii statehood resolution eventually passed the House by a vote of 378-0, with Rep. Bachmann voting in favor.

So long as his mother was American his being born in Kenya is good enough for me, even despite a bunch of “definitions” in the US Code which “interpret” The Constitution right from the get go.

He’s already to be impeached on a host of other issues, if the Congress can somehow see their way around the same issues.

I’ll go after him on virtually every other matter. But not on this.

If the state of hawaii put out an official statement on a matter that has great interest don't you find it strange that it wouldn't be up on their website almost immediately?

Do you find it strange that there's no mention of HOW this statement came about? Written? Spoken? Where's the link the link to the document?

As of 10:41 AM EST, July 28, 2009 there is still no verification or press release verifying that such Fukino EVER made the statement attributed to her(him?) yesterday.

That doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just means that every story on the internet today is based on 1 reporter posting something on the internet late last night.

It's bogus until it's official.
